Champ Men’s Award Winners ❤️🏆 Coaches Award - Daniel Steen Steen has been an absolutely fantastic Captain to the Championship Men’s team. He is someone who you can rely on to get the job done, whether that is coming off the bench to play or get the team in line. Steen leads by example, he never complains and never fusses. He is the epitome of being a captain on and off the floor. Defensive Player of the Year - Zachary Coleman Bock The big Bock. Whatever the occasion, whatever the requirement Bock is at the forefront to the Champ Men’s teams success - especially this season. Bock is our Mr Reliable. Most Valuable Player - Devon Vanderheydt This season Devon showed that he is a bonafide import at this level, with his relentless desire and ability to lead the team as a natural first option. End of Season for RMIT Champ Men’s On behalf of RMIT, we would like to honour and congratulate our Champ Men’s team for their 2026 Big V Season. Our Champ Men’s team was nothing short of amazing this season - they kept us wanting more after each game we watched. Throughout the season they never backed down after a loss and fought their way back each game. This team is full of amazing athletes, but not only that this is a team that is made up of fathers, partners, brothers and just down to earth men. This is a team that will welcome you in and make you feel a part of their close knit family. This year we welcomed amazing players to the team such as: • Devon Vanderheydt • Roman Lutton • Christopher Ogle • Anthony Gennaccaro • Xavier Cotton Each of these men played an instrumental role in our family whether it was on or off the court. We were blessed to have them join us. We also welcomed back to the family, Steve Coffey after missing him dearly during our 2025 season. It’s safe to say having him back on our team this year felt like that missing part of our family was reunited. Our returning Redbacks of Lou Agon, Zachary Coleman-Bock, Matt Spencer, Darcy Daniels, Daniel Steen and Lucas Bateman, all brought back the energy we know and love. Head Coach Vince had a memorable season on and off the court this year, winning an award through Uni Sport for ‘Official of the Year’ for his efforts with RMIT Big V’s program as well being nominated once again for Coach of the Year for the 2026 Big V Awards. Vince alongside the one and only Stefan, coached and mentored these men all season and provided them all a family they can have forever. We talked to Vince and he said “It was not the fairytale ending we envisioned, however, no one can take the memories this group has built together. #family”. A big thank you to the supporters of this team who come to games week in and week out - parents, partners, children, media. We appreciate you all so much. We are blessed to have spent this 2026 with them all. Love always, RMIT and your Redbacks family.
