What South West Water’s Dart investigations found, and what they promise
South West Water’s interim investigations into Steamer Quay, Stoke Gabriel and the Dittisham shellfish beds: what they found, the 23 storm overflows and one treatment works it has committed to improve, and where we think the gaps are. 🏺🌿 Happy International Archaeology Day! 🌿🏺

Today, we’re celebrating the archaeology, heritage and people that make Teignbridge and South Devon so fascinating!

From prehistoric landscapes and ancient settlements to the discoveries being made right here in our communities, there are countless stories waiting to be uncovered.

🔎 We’re proud of our committee members, the work of our Gardens Project, and everyone who has helped investigate and understand our local past — both before Teignbridge Archaeological Society began and through our work today.

From pottery and buried features to the landscapes around us, every discovery adds another piece to the puzzle of our shared history. 🏺

❤️ A huge thank you to everyone helping to investigate, preserve and celebrate our heritage. There’s still so much to discover!

👇 What’s your favourite archaeological site in Teignbridge or South Devon? Let us know in the comments!

Tomorrow is DLD Awareness Day

Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) affects how people understand and use language, but it’s often misunderstood or goes unrecognised.

Ahead of DLD Awareness Day on 16 October, we’re sharing a reel to explain what DLD is, raise awareness, and signpost you to useful resources where you can learn more and find support.

Let’s help to make DLD more visible and help more people feel understood.

What’s it like growing up in north Devon?

It’s beaches, countryside, adventure and having somewhere new to explore. But, like anywhere, sometimes children and young people need a little extra help, to move, communicate, be heard, or feel understood.

That’s where @cfhdevon comes in.

We’re looking for passionate people to join our teams in North Devon and help make a difference to the lives of children, young people and families.

At CFHD, you’ll be part of a supportive and innovative NHS organisation where your ideas are valued, your development matters and there are opportunities to grow.

Watch our new film to discover what makes North Devon special, and why you could make it your home too.

Rosie’s fascination and love of water is life-long: a swimmer from a young age, preferring the wild: streams, rivers and coastal waters, to indoor pools. Her preference is to live near tidal water - knowing where the tide is, creates a sense of rhythm and continuity and connectivity with our natural world on a daily basis. PLASTIC BEACH SEA TO SOURCE is an ongoing investigative body of Art work concerned with water. A call to engage with, consider and respond, to take a responsibility to our most precious element WATER 💧

Meet me and learn more: visit WATER WATER 💧 an exposition 17th -31st October 2026! COLDHARBOUR MILL UFFCULME DEVON
