✨ This month’s featured playwrights:

Allison Whittenberg — 𝑺𝑳𝑰𝑵𝑲𝒀
SLINKY follows Elias, a young man in eating disorder recovery, as he struggles to build a “normal” life while hiding his hospitalization from a new girlfriend—and resisting a mother who confuses control with care.
Whittenberg @therealallisonwhittenberg is a ten-time Pushcart nominee published widely in literary journals nationwide. Her poetry collection They Were Horrible Cooks (2024) and latest novel Killing the Father of Our Country continue her fearless exploration of identity and power. Her plays have been produced at Interact Theatre, Hedgerow Theatre, and more.

Eva Schegulla — 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒈𝒆
In 1904, three young women flee a stifling New Hampshire town. Decades later, in a vibrant community for independent women, love and long-buried secrets threaten the freedom they fought to claim.
Schegulla, @devonellingtonwork previously featured at Read & Rant, is an internationally produced playwright and radio writer, a former Broadway dresser, and a member of feminist theatre communities including Nightwood Theatre and WAM Theatre. She lives and creates in the Berkshires, MA.

The evening is hosted by Athena Project’s Literary Manager, Reilly Conlon @reillyjewell95, joined by Read & Rant’s Resident Dramaturg, Samara Siskind @samariet.
