September was a massive month for friendship, emotion, training, fire stuff, work and life. October’s going to be bigger.

The results are in!

We sent 7 Gators to the @ufba.nz North Island Firefighter Challenge in Havelock North and fielded teams for the three disciplines, Tandem, Relay and Individual.

The teams were made up of a mix of our members and members of other Brigades, from both Volunteer and Paid stations.

Three of our officers represented the Brigade in both Relays and Individual races and we had two debuts (the Baby Gators) by Bailey and Ben.

After two days of fierce competing we came away with;

🥉 Third in the mixed tandem for Matt and Nic.
🥈 Second in the men’s tandem for Matt and Dan (Devonport).
🥇 🏆 First in the women’s tandem and a national record to boot for Nic and Sela (Mt Wellington)!

Ben made the top 10 on his debut run in the Individuals and Matt came 5th overall and 3rd in his age group.

Nic took out third in the women’s Individual. 🥉

The final event was the relay team playoffs which saw Matt and Ben along with Dan and Paul (Devonport and St Heliers) race back to back , managing to take out the win in an exciting end to the event. 🥇

Great work team.

Northland Provincial Firefighter Challenge | March 2026

finally got round to a quick edit, mainly of the Auckland competitors back halves 😅💁🏼‍♀️ how quick are these kids though 🔥

Always a pleasure to be part of these days. We were blessed with a beautiful day ☀️ and seamless events 👌🏻
The crew that organise, judge and rally for this comp are an awesome and positive bunch; they put so much love and effort into it. 🙌 Onerahi volunteers were the host brigade for the awards afterwards and put on a yummy dinner for us. 😋 We couldn’t be here without all the stellar help and effort from the teams, thank you all for what you do!! 🙏🧡

watch (or skip lol) to the end for me effing up Philly Cheese’s baton transition to me 🫣
