I know I’m pretty tame 😑. The song was appropriate because I listened to it pre-game for my last (I think) 3-4 years playing. The last one on my playlist. Yup on discman/walkman. 🎧. The start is pretty fitting as that’s how I was built. Slow to FULL SPEED. I walk slowly with a distinct gait. For an old fella, when necessary, I still can up the tempo in a sprint. I train different from what it was back then. BUT I go hard. Overall I am much calmer on game days IN the game. My pregame stuff as a Coach aren’t fake, not antics, not for the likes. It’s for the athletes I coach. It’s for the parents and fans to see what I’m trying to lead and build in their sons or daughters. I know it’s not 20+ years ago. I know sports have changed. I know it’s “different.” Still though, we turn the scoreboard on. We keep track of time. We count points and runs and goals. Soooooo REALLY?! Is it that Different?!? Compete to WIN. Go HARD because YOU should. Be a GREAT TEAMMATE because that’s the EXPECTATION I’ll give ya. Let’s run this Saturday!!!! Good Stuff!!! #fts #ftsfamily #mindset #imdifferent #coaching

ABC …Attitude Balance Consistency… and yes I have preached this for a LONG TIME!!! Have I followed it all the time? Nah…I struggle with it. If I were to look back into my journals I’d see when ABC is clicking, things are most likely and relatively smooth. But let’s be honest, and with myself, very rarely are things smooth. The aim is to keep ABC in check. Come back to it. Read it again so that your aim is the outcome. It certainly can be a struggle. If the effort is there it may get rewarded. Those around you will sense that effort and follow. Leadership is then created. Leaders!!!!! Not followers!!! I don’t expect all #ftsfamily to be public speakers and captains…what I do have an expectation of, is that he or she leads in some way!!! My example, with hardwork, dedication, applying each of him/herself to difficult things, understanding ABC…all ways to be a LEADER!!!! Now go get the week!!!! Good Stuff!!! #fts #ftstrained #leaders #morethanagym

LADIES!!!!! WOMEN!!!! GIRLS!!!!! FEMALE ATHLETES!!!! If I offended you by using those words, I don’t really care!!!! Because what you see here are SOME AMAZING Females crushing training, celebrating confidence, building physical attributes, becoming leaders, and dominating life!!!!! From the sassy looks, to the positive role they stand within, to the greatness they will achieve. I couldn’t be more proud of them ALL as well as the others not pictured. #ftsfamily is built on results and those results are attained by just as many young ladies as young men. The realization that females CAN Train, SHOULD Train, and NEED to Train is something lost with a ton of families!!!! YES there are differences!!!!! YES stuff is adjusted when necessary. BUT there is NO reason they can’t push weight, pull heavy stuff, jump high, sprint fast, and dominate sports and life. So if you’re a parent and you deny your daughter(s) the opportunity to train, because YOU have a stigma, get over yourself!!!!! Your daughter can be one #BABs Not for nothing, the training environment breeds communication, success, leadership, mentorship, and some extra sass…the four last night certainly proved that 😉. I’m proud of our girls and what they do!!!!!! Let’s have a day!!!!!!! Good Stuff!!!!! #fts #ftstrained #mindset

There’s a stigma behind training legs. Well heck yeah it’s HARD!!!!! They need to be STRONG. They need to MOVE well. They need to create POWER. They need to know how to apply FORCE! I was so afraid of bench press growing up, because I got pinned by a barbell, I hid from barbell benching and embraced the heck outta legs. I built a foundation of leg strength that I then learned how to apply force better and created stupid speed for years!!!!! At 49 it’s certainly not what it was, but when necessary I can sometimes muster it out. BUT YOU HAVE to TRAIN to build that foundation. Telling me you skip it because you have practice or have a bullpen in two days and don’t wanna be sore. We’ll know the stimulus. Have a coach whom will adapt it. Dynamic Belt Squat work emom x3-5 @ 15 sets/ Glute Ham Raises 4x12-15/TKE’s 3 x25-50ea… then go about my business 😉 Good Stuff!!! #fts #ftsfamily #mindset #morethanagym #workhard @brayden_longo10 show dad the khakis!!!!!!! lol

Foundation Training Systems…FTS… #ftsfamily Ya know it’s that place on Route 10?!? There are too many people that drive by and don’t care where we are. There are a select few that inquire. The moniker isn’t for everybody. The process not without some sacrifice from the athlete and his/her family. It’s not free. It doesn’t come without spending time. There is a Purpose and Intent behind everything that is done. We Build from the Ground Up…but the leadership starts from the Top. Whether me or my coaches…it’s done consistently and with continuity. Sorry but you can’t mimic or want to be like it without being in it. We don’t have secret passwords, but our athletes feel like it’s a special place. We grow like 🔥 some seasons, and some we are 🧊cold. Our youngest are selectively taken, but ya need to be ready. Our groups are diverse, yet constantly evolving and adapting to what EACH ONE needs. The words are not filtered…PG13 w/ a mix of some R language…but let’s not forget how many parents let their kids watch Deadpool 😂. In the midst of it all…habits get formed, work ethics earned, results driven, crossover and synergy understood, while doing it safely with some fun. What ya see is what ya get. So that posture, intensity, stare, intent, purposeful pose…that’s REAL!!!!! Good Stuff!!!! #fts #notjustagym #mindset #lifestyle

Preparation…huh? To compete and get a win. Hours, weeks and years…not a few mins and some time. Now some get instant gratification because they may have been gifted with something or had some good timing. In reality and most of the time, it’s take preparation. Some folks are awesome at preparing…almost too detailed. Other wing it 🙈 If you’re good at something that’s great…it usually means you have to work at something to balance it. Keep working for balance…keep prepping to compete…use your strengths…work at weaknesses…PREPARE always!!!! Good Stuff!!! #fts #ftstrained #morethanagym #mindset #hardwork

Being Genuine is tough nowadays. You’re told “Be You,” but “Don’t be too much!” “Coach hard,” but “Make sure not too hard” 🤨. There’s a fine balance between rhetoric and truth. BUT here’s the biggest BUT…you get what you see. Whether it’s turned down, language slightly censored, or maybe a little less outlandish YOU GET WHAT YOU SEE. Intensity, honesty, support, love, passion, truth, leadership, mentorship, rapport…should I keep going? So regardless of the state of our world, if you work with kids, young athletes, young adults, BE true and genuine with them. OF COURSE there are limits!!!!! Guess what?! Every family will have a different standard as well…soooo HOLD your standard. You can’t be everything to everyone. The “ONES” will find you. They will sift and gravitate to you. No superficial cover up. No hiding. No fear, outside of the first day 😜. Sooo be genuine and don’t close your eyes to it. Good Stuff!!!!! #fts #ftsfamily #ftstrained #mindset #begenuine

A post fell into my feed and it aggravated me. @coachbeede no worries, because the aggravation was good!!!! It was another like minded Coach that explains the development and how coaches look and recruit. What they want!!!! They want athletes whom take time training. Develop strength and athleticism. That by doing that, it creates a level of adjustment, variability, and “room for error!” That’s just it. Faster, more powerful, stronger, well conditioned, mobile, kinesthetically aware…all aspects that allow an athlete to have room for error and can adjust easier. Soooooo why do you think doing some sh!tty bro-day split is gonna help. TBH it’s a waste of time. I’m sorry I see “regular” gym workouts. No sense of training and developing. No BS it’s not 20-30 years ago where YOU trained with your buddies. YOU TRAINED!!!! Ask another like-minded dude in @defrancosgym WE trained and then had Mr. Burt welt us on the racquetball court if we started to beat him!!!! 😂 Better yet turn the court into a hockey rink and slam us into the walls. 😂😂. BUT seriously, cut the crap and stop thinking your bro-days work. Be adjustable and be athletic via your training. You’ll have much more success being strong, fast, and powerful than a stupid haircut and bro-muscles. Good Stuff!!!! #fts #ftsfamily #mindset #morethanagym

A teammate AI’d our championship from Sunday. It’s pretty sweet how we can use technology/apps to enjoy some fun. BUT this hit me differently. Going in hard!!! Cutting the hell outta someone!!! Decleating someone in a crackback (how many even know what this is?). Hard fouls on easy layups. A TRUE handshake!!! No keyboard tough guys. Newspaper clippings rather than story postings. Up and IN with purpose NOT just because the radar gun is going. Up and under into the boards!!!! Maaaaaannnnnnnn how the expecations have changed. I fraternize with opponents, but that didn’t happen until a few years ago. (Guys I’m 49!!!…not 15) I’m kinder to refs & umps…I’ve learned how to speak better to them when needed, BUT I still don’t really like them. I’m still a protector/enforcer with all my teammates even IF I don’t really like them. 😂. On the field or off….they are more than aware of what they have with me guarding their backs!!! Coach wise, I’m an over protective one…don’t speak to my players poorly, don’t speak to my colleagues and other coaches without respect, don’t put down or engage with kids YOU don’t correlate with. LEAD for sure, but don’t antagonize. Certainly don’t threaten…you’d be amazed at some of the locals and actions. 👀 I know this goes on a lotta deaf ears… “Scott it’s not what it was” 1000% correct…but when did accountability, hard work, trust, honor, rules, respect all stop?! When did competition soften? When did leading by example not become cool? When did protecting your own not be a thing? Soooo I’ll pull my short shorts up a 1/2” higher. I’ll train legs still pretty hard. I’ll continue to look like I can play still. I’ll go harder into second to break up two. I’ll lead from the front. I’ll do what others don’t wanna do. I’ll wear my emotions so you may see them. Old school or not…I’ll coach kids up to their fullest to be awesome athletes and GREAT humans!!! Good Stuff!!! #fts #ftsfamily #morethanagym #mjndset #oldschoolstill

#ftsFamily we ride with our Black & Carolina Blue…BUT the Blackout is something you’re gonna see more and more. Why?!? Because the meaning is deep. A good deal of athletes have asked the origin of our Blackout American Flag. If ya take a deep dive you’ll see its origin comes from when pirates controlled the seas. “Defiance, No Back Down, & No Prisoners will be taken”. Ya see the grand 🏴‍☠️ you see there had its blackout version…it typically meant there were some issues going down, and we ain’t messing around. We will take it and leave nothing…there are similar standards in dark corners of the military/special ops that are unspoken where blackouts are patched for designation. In simplest terms for not so serious thoughts…it’s code for US…YOU WILL DO WHAT IS NECESSARY TO GET IT. You will work. You will sacrifice. You will own your accountability. You will have purpose and intention in what you do. Not as serious as taking a ship or going on a covert mission, BUT it has some serious meaning. Good Stuff!!! #fts #ftstrained #mindset #morethanagym

Who the fu&k wants to watch almost 2mins of a belt squat set? 🦍 Well take time to read this as it may take that same time frame 📓. It’s a War of Attrition. It’s the constant exhaustion and work. It’s reaching the max and finding more. It’s taking time, maybe not with huge wins, but some small ones along the way. It’s the mental breaking point AND ‘den some’. Ways to extend things out. Prolong and maintain. Gear up and tear down. It’s LOOKING the part too. (Stop idealizing folks that either ONLY look it or DON’T look it) The constant work and sacrifice TO BE BETTER at BEING BETTER. Discomfort leading to bliss. Failure only to gain seconds of success. Mental anguish…feelings of disgust WHILE thriving on high fives. Training gives so much. Doing it with purpose, intent, consistency, continuity, adaptation and reason…WELL that’s how ya do it!! Good Stuff!! #fts #ftstrained #ftsfamily #mindset #bereal
