Three words to describe Very Like a Whale? That’s a tall order. 🐋

We asked the cast and playwright to give it their best shot. Here’s their take on this hilarious, wonderfully chaotic comedy.

See it for yourself at SLAC! One week left to experience this World Premiere. Must close October 25!

“Directed by Alexandra Harbold, Deutsch’s new comedy, receiving a co-world premiere at Salt Lake Acting Company with Cadence Theatre Company of Richmond, Virginia, asks what happens if you take the hoax at its word. The answer is a loud, quick, very funny evening, and I liked it a great deal. The Sharps, the family at its center, kept putting me in mind of the Roses of Schitt’s Creek. Yet the play is unlike anything else I have seen on a local stage, and it could not be better fitted to this city: the lake, a few miles from the theatre, really is disappearing, and somebody is going to have to be responsible for what is left.”
Keolanani Kinghorn | Rhetorical Review

Very Like a Whale continues to delight on our stage through October 25th! Tickets are going quickly, and you really don't want to miss the fun! Book yours today, and we'll see you soon at SLAC!

“Very Like a Whale is nonsense and merriment at its very best. It is also biting satire about the stuff that keeps many up at night: our disintegrating ecosystems, our inherited griefs, and the slow, terrifying realization that our personal worlds are receding like shoreline mud. Troy Deutsch and Alexandra Harbold have weaponized comedy."
