(...) Did you know each other before filming or did you spend time together to develop the bond of two agents who had worked together for a while?

Murphy:
Something happened that wasn’t there when I started acting, that is they do this thing called chemistry tests.
They put a camera in front of two people, usually a boy and a girl, and say [whispering].
It’s impossible.
You can’t produce it or film it, it just has to happen.
Luckily I was aware of Jamie’s work.
I loved The Fall ;
I was a little obsessed with that show. And then we met in London, had dinner together and got along well.
I think it was kind of a coincidence that we were Irish.
We could be from anywhere.
It seemed to work on the camera.
And there are very few films – because you make a lot of them and you meet people and work very intensely and intimately and then you leave – but there are some where you really make friends, and this was one.

Dornan :
Yes, I agree.
I was and still am a huge fan of Cillian’s work – always have been.
He’s obviously a lot older than me, so I grew up watching Cillian work.
But I’m really a fan.
It’s a small industry.
All the actors know each other to the point that you always know someone who knows the other person who worked with them.
If you’re an asshole, everyone knows you’re an asshole, and if you’re a good person, everyone knows you’re a good person.
I knew a lot of people who had worked with Cillian , and he was one of those people I had only heard good things about.
It’s nice when it works like that. As Cillian said, this isn’t always the case.(..)

$| 𝙋𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙮 𝘽𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙄𝙢𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙣 Rating: ⭐️⭐️ Director: Tom Harper Year: 2026 Country: 🇬🇧 Thoughts Below: ⬇️ Six years after the stuttering finale of Peaky Blinders exited our screens, Cillian Murphy returns as Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. A figure presumed dead, but the mythos and legend remain pertinent. Drifting around his empty, decaying manor, he has flashes from his past and haunting imagery of those he’s lost. The series undoubtedly huffed and puffed and went in various directions, some interesting, some absurd. Immortal Man does its utmost to ground it back in the thing that made it tick. There are the pop music interludes, but not enough to get us off our seats. We’re introduced to Barry Keoghan as Murphy’s illegitimate son and the new head honcho of the Peaky Blinders. We’re thrown into the turbulence of WW2, bombs hitting Birmingham, and Keoghan’s Duke is there to mop up the weapons. He’s anarchic, careless, and looking to prove himself. Tim Roth arrives fresh from declaring his loyalty to Hitler, looking to flood the British economy with fake currency. It’s a light central premise, and the threat of Nazism doesn’t feel ominous enough. We then move through a predictable series of events as Tommy arrives back on the scene to sort things out and resolve his fractured relationship with Duke. There’s an attempt to double bluff the viewer, but the payoff feels tame and neatly predictable. Murphy and Rebecca Ferguson’s gypsy witch offers a sense of depth and spiritual insight, but again feels limited. Roth is criminally underused despite offering a compelling turn, whilst Keoghan and Murphy’s encounters never go beyond the obvious. It’s watchable fare, but one that lacks the cinematic canvas and the narrative scope the material demands. This is simply a longer episode of TV. #cillianmurphyedit #peakyblindersofficial #peakyblindersfan #barrykeoghan$
