Brava! I don’t think there has ever been a career in dance more beautifully executed. A master class in ALL things: art, education, joy, family, longevity, and ICON status. It’s just too perfect and should be studied. Truly! When Megan Fairchild, at her farewell performance of Coppélia, said to me, “Do you know what I’m going to say?” and I answered, “I think so …” and she said, “You were the first Swanhilda I ever saw and it left such an impression on me.” 🥹 When we walked away, my good friend Jason said, “You know she thought about that today.” And I said … “Oh stop!” But also … 🥹 Art is just too special. It just is. Things I took away from the unexplainable event that was today: Megan’s freedom and joy. Her longevity. Leaving while still looking in her absolute prime. Her acting! Her speed! Her technical prowess! She is IN the books forever as one of the greats. And EVERYONE in the ballet world across the globe was there. Truly a star-studded event. She ended a 25 year career with a ballet that included the entire company, the school 🥹, and heavily featured her female colleagues. That ALL says something. 🥹🥹 She ended with a ballet that knitted together both her beginning and her end. Both SLC and NYC. Part Christensen, part Balanchine. So intentional. So beautiful. And gosh … I have no business feeling part of any of this except somehow I do because art connects us all. Art at its very best makes you feel woven into something bigger than yourself. Thank you, Megan, for your extraordinary career and for sharing your artistry, generosity, joy, and brilliance with all of us for 25 years. What a gift to ballet. 🤍 Thank you to Blake, Jason, the Huntsmans, Jenn and Dev, and Ryan for sharing this magical day with me. The people you experience art with become part of the memory forever. And thank you to Mr. C. The world would not know the greatness that lives in the Wasatch Mountains without what you built and brought to Salt Lake City. Your impact reaches far beyond Utah. We are all standing in the ripple effect of your vision. What a perfect NYC/UTAH moment. What a perfect farewell. And I’m so grateful to have been there with so many amazing people I love.

My Swanhilda Debut The Florida Ballet, May 2026 It’s been a few days, and I’m still trying to formulate words to describe all I am feeling. This might be long — FYI. Coppélia is a ballet that marked my life! Coppélia is the last ballet my dad ever watched me perform when he was alive. It is the first full-length ballet I ever performed in when I was 5 or 6 years old at @balletclaudiaaraujoniteroi . Swanhilda ACT III is the first variation I ever competed with and won a medal for. Coppélia is the first work I was coached in by @loreeboaventura, my dear teacher, when I was 14. Davi (@davi1ramos ) and I danced this numerous times. I have a very vivid memory of my best friend @marlon.ssales and me coming back from YAGP in São Paulo, brainstorming in the back of our dance school bus about which variations we should do, when he said, “You should dance Coppélia.” I was 12. I really mean it when I say this ballet holds a VERY special place in my heart. And now, in 2026, it holds the best day of my career so far. The last time I saw Dad, he knew I was a little nervous to hop on that plane by myself when I decided to move to this side of the world, so he told me to go chase my dreams and show everyone my art. Dad didn’t understand the first thing about ballet, so to him, your role’s importance was measured by the amount of time you spent on stage. He would always ask me, “Okay, how many minutes are you going to be on?” Today, I just really want to say: Dad, I was out there for soooo long, so long. I like to think you would be proud. I wish you were here. All night long, I danced for you and for Mom, who sacrificed so much so I could be up here fulfilling a dream! I honestly have so many people to thank: Starting with @dancer_tj, thank you for being my Franz, for sharing this monumental day in my career with me! Thank you for the partnership and for being so kind and patient with me. I will never forget this day and the journey we shared to get there. It feels like a dream, and I’m still on cloud nine over here. I can’t stop smiling. MORE IN THE CAPTION!
