resharing some of my favorite film photos ever ~ the first being a multiple exposure of Bobby from the final show of the final tour💫 luckily I got to return to SF two years later to celebrate 60 years of the Grateful Dead and see Bobby
one last time 🕊️

what a gift it’s all been.
this music is the soundtrack to my life - the heartbeat, the tethered string. it’s a shared experience held by millions, defying all boundaries and generations, only growing more expansive and more prominent with time. Bobby felt like the final living thread to this era I’d felt so connected to. every time I saw him play it felt like stepping through a portal into another space + time ~ one made entirely of love, silliness, and tie dye; and where everyone was deeply themselves. it’s no surprise that in our world now that is something I crave so deeply.

I’m so grateful I’ve spent the last 10 years of my life experiencing this community, this love, and being completely immersed in the music of the Grateful Dead. I couldn’t imagine anything else.

all the years combine and melt into a dream.
