Meet the people who are making this film a reality!
With this week: Suze Gil & Dewi Hartono

These lovely ladies are leading our animation team, making sure every animator is drawing in the same style, keeping track of consistency in the shots, and ofcourse are the key-animators on the characters… Not an easy task.. But nothing gets past these two until everything drawing in a scene is on the level of perfect! Their drawing styles were a perfect fit for this short. They both have a high level of animating spatially in this semi-realistic style.
Check out there animations here:

“Homesick to Nowhere” is a short film / proof of concept about the word 'sonder'. "Sonder — noun. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own." During the pandemic, I have come to realise that I've lost sense of who I am, or was. I felt incredibly lonely, even in the presence of my warm friends and family. The loneliness of my Indonesian father, who misses Java more then ever. The loneliness of knowing I could never tell my family there that I want to marry a woman. The loneliness of forgetting what true connection feels like with people. I felt sorry for myself, until I discovered the feeling of sonder. It gave me great comfort knowing I am NOT alone in this, and that there are people out there experiencing the same thing.

“Homesick to Nowhere” is a representation of feeling lonely, but having the comfort of knowing that you are part of many people in the world who are as complex as you are, and that loneliness will just be a temporary feeling.

“Homesick to Nowhere”, İngilizcesi sonder olan “sokakta yürürken çevredeki diğer insanların da canlı ve karmaşık hayatları olduğunun farkına varma” olgusunun kısa film formatlı kanıtıdır. Pandemideyken, o an veya öncesinde kim olduğumu hatırlamakla güçlük çektiğimi fark ettim.
