This post is dedicated to the girls who saaang and dreamed of being Cindy, Terry, or Maxine…

I graduated from high school in 1990, the same year En Vogue released their debut album, Born to Sing. I remember it like it was yesterday.

College was about to open up a whole new world for me. School Daze had given us images of Black college life, and over the next few years I was evolving my own sense of style and identity, pledging, and somehow ending up with the line name VOGUE. So much about those years was shaped by culture, sisterhood, and Black music.

En Vogue was right there in the middle of it: their voices, their harmonies, their choreography, their beauty, their fashion, and their sophistication. They were a big part of the soundtrack.

So having the opportunity to welcome them to Nashville and share a proclamation from @mayorofnashvilletn was such a profound moment for me.

A beautiful reminder that sometimes the music that accompanies us while we are becoming eventually meets us again on the other side.

A sold-out crowd singing right along was evidence that some music never leaves us.

It hasn’t left them either. The vocals, the fashion, and the music did not disappoint. Shout out to @stylistjbolin.
Catch the It’s Iconic Tour when it comes near you.

PS. Much love to the @mnps students who performed a ‘90s girl group tribute in their summer program and gratitude to @thenmaam for continuing to create moments that honor the music and the people who shaped us. Both are proof that incredible music keeps finding new generations…and that preserving the stories, sounds, and legacy matters. ❤️

JUNETEENTH 2026 in Nashville was one our city definitely won’t forget! 🖤❤️💚

Every year, @juneteenth615 reminds us of what’s possible when our community, culture, and collective responsibility come together here in Nashville! This year especially, looking out across Centennial Park and seeing thousands and thousands of our people gathered in celebration, connection, and so much BLACK PRIDE & JOY was a powerful thing to witness!! 👏🏾👏🏾

Huge shoutout to my brother @bigfellatv, the entire @juneteenth615 team, my @thenashvilleblackmarket family @im_loso and @livinglife_j, and everyone who helped make this year’s celebration possible! Honored to be building something so special with my people. 🤎

Nashville, thank you for showing up, supporting one another, and making this city special. So proud to call Nashville home! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
