The Wild Rebel wasn’t just a formation. It was a problem. 😈🏈

Dexter McCluster could line up at running back, slot receiver, take a direct snap, run it, or throw it — and defenses had to account for all of it.

In this clip, Dex breaks down how the Wild Rebel changed his game and gave the Ole Miss offense another dimension.

One of the most dynamic players in Ole Miss football history. 🔴🔵

They said he was too small. Dexter McCluster decided to prove them wrong. 🔥

“I practice harder than I probably played.”

From being overlooked in high school to becoming an Ole Miss football legend, Dexter McCluster built his career on work ethic, discipline and believing in himself when other people didn’t.

This is the mindset that made Dex different. 🐕🔴🔵

🚨 DEXTER MCCLUSTER IS COMING TO OXFORD AUDIBLE 🚨

Ole Miss is headed back to The Swamp this weekend. 🐊🏈

And there’s some serious history behind this trip.

Dexter McCluster was a key part of the 2008 Ole Miss team that went into Gainesville and beat Florida 31–30 — the last Rebel team to win at Florida.

Now, 18 years later, Ole Miss is heading back to Gainesville.

We sat down with Dexter to talk about that 2008 team, what it was like playing in The Swamp, what it takes to win at Florida, and his thoughts on this year’s Rebels.

🎙️ Full episode drops Friday morning.

The people around you matter more than you realize.

Shay Hodge learned that firsthand at Ole Miss, watching Dexter McCluster show up every day with a work ethic that Shay admits he didn’t have yet.

Instead of being threatened by it, he studied it.

“Let me go be free in him. And do things the way he do it.”

Your circle shapes you.
Your habits.
Your standards.
Your work ethic.

Dexter McCluster @dextermccluster was told he was too small by every big program in Florida.

He became the first player in SEC history to run for 1,000 yards and catch for 500 in one season, a two-time Cotton Bowl MVP, a second-round pick, a Pro Bowler, and the guy who returned a punt 94 yards on Monday Night Football in his first NFL game.

Then the part nobody sees.

Named a captain. Cut before the season. Crying the whole drive home. Three retirements. Months on the patio from six in the morning to six at night, until his wife told him not to forget who he was.

We talk about becoming a dad at 17, buying his mom a house, the business side of the NFL, getting cut, depression, and building a second life training athletes and coaching kids.

We weigh the same. Only one of us has a Chiefs record.

Full episode is live.

Dexter McCluster is five-foot-eight. Florida State told him to play defensive back. Florida told him to return kicks.

He went to Ole Miss instead, ran for 282 yards on Tennessee, won back-to-back Cotton Bowl MVPs, and returned a punt 94 yards for a touchdown in his first NFL game.

Then the Titans cut him the year Derrick Henry arrived, and he spent months on his patio trying to figure out who he was without football.

New episode tomorrow with @dextermccluster
