i am truly so blessed for the amazing people i’ve met on this team, you guys have showed me how to be a better athlete, teammate, and person as a whole. i can’t wait to see the future of this team as a whole and i am so excited to be apart of that journey! roll kerns!

Can’t be sad it’s over, just have to nod and smile that it happened. Joining the track team was not on my initial resume but it will be the one I will remember the most. Thank you to the coaches that believed in me and my teammates for the memories and constant support. EKU track and field will always have a special place in my heart for many reasons. The man I’ve become is a better man than the man without you. This season was the best one yet and it would not be possible without many people, My mom and dad especially. From quitting the football team to join a team with no throwers at the time was very scary. Truly one of the lowest points in my life stopping the sport I loved first to a big maybe in what my career was going to end up being. Without my parents believing in what I was capable of I never would’ve tried out in the first place, along with my high school coach Dalton telling me this was the better team for me and he was correct. To seeing what the team is now with the amount of throwers and their growth is the thing I am most proud of. The team is continuing to grow and I loved the part I got to play in that transition and will always enjoy the idea more that I am leaving it better than how I found it, way more than the records I was able to set during my time competing. While competing I was able to meet some of the best athletes/people in the world and their families and can truly say it’s been a honor to compete against you and get to know you. As much as we competed against each other I will always consider you a friend first and hope nothing but the best in whatever you choose to do, you’ll always have my support and I know I will always have yours. I am a firm believer in “if you don’t love what you do then why do you do it?” And I can confidently say I’ve loved every second of this journey. As the next chapter is starting towards becoming Coach See, I know it wouldn’t be possible without my time with EKU track and field and football, and I know I will be a better coach because of what I’ve learned during my time here and the memories along the way. I have gout in my foot now. Imagine that. First year down. Worked through back, foot, ankle, knee, and shoulder problems. Did the best I could. I do this because I love it. Thankful for my teammates, parents, coach, and friends support. See y’all at indoor!
