Every day, I play a record for you from my collection. Ready to peek into the secret studio archives? Exactly 50 years later, on October 25, 2019, King Crimson’s legendary debut “”In the Court of the Crimson King”” was reborn. Steven Wilson assembled a unique alternative version from archival takes: here, Greg Lake’s vocals are layered over new instrumentals, and “”I Talk to the Wind”” sounds like an extended duet. This is pure prog-rock magic.

King Crimson «In The Court Of The Crimson King» переродился.

🔥 57 AÑOS DEL DISCO QUE ENCENDIÓ LA LLAMA DEL ROCK PROGRESIVO 🔥

KING CRIMSON — IN THE COURT OF THE CRIMSON KING (1969)

Larga vida al Rey Carmesí. Larga vida al rock progresivo. 🤘🏻

A 41-year old rarity is now available digitally. #Toyah & #RobertFripp recorded the track Mothership in 1985 not long after they met to work on the album The Lady Or The Tiger. It was recorded in the same session as Freedom which later appeared as the closing track on the Sunday All Over The World album.

It is available to download/stream from today (along with an audio commentary track with Robert talking about the track with David Singleton) from iTunes, Spotify, QoBuzz and other digital platforms. Or visit @dgmlive website or YouTube.

☆Dearest great drummer, Mr. Pat Mastelotto's birthday!!! 🎉✨🎂✨🎁✨

I go to see live performances by various artists, so it might be hard to tell who my favorite is, but my absolute favorite drummer is Pat Mastelotto ! 💖

I've been a fan of Mr. Mister since 1985 and King Crimson since 1986. So when I heard Pat's drumming live at a David Sylvian & Robert Fripp concert in 1993, I was truly thrilled♪😻💕

In the end, I went to see Pat's live shows 94 times. The artist I've seen the most is none other than my dear Pat Mastelotto ! 🎉✨✨✨

Happy Birthday, Pat-san ! 🎶✨😆✨🎶 May lasting happiness come to you and your family ! 🌠✨💫✨

Vinyl #5: King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King, 1969. (Original US pressing)

The song you are hearing, ‘Moonchild’, is very special to me - it was the song I proposed to @orlovapollinaria to. The engagement ring, designed by Josephine @mirieldesign with a crescent moon diamond - also retells the story of the song. 🌙 We both love this album, and this song especially carries some of the most beautiful lyrics ever written:

She’s a moonchild, gathering the flowers in a garden.
Lovely moonchild, drifting on the echoes of the hours…

King Crimson was formed in 1968, and in 2019 we were lucky enough to catch their 50th anniversary show in Toronto. It was the best concert I’ve ever been to.

If you don’t know this album, it is pure genius! Some of the best musicianship you’ll ever hear, and I’ll have more King Crimson records to share with you in the upcoming reels :)

The 1979 version of "Here Comes the Flood" – born from the collaboration between @itspetergabriel and @robertfrippofficial – is an extraordinary track precisely because of its essentiality.

Stripped of the orchestral arrangement of the first version, it relies solely on voice, piano, and the ambient backdrop of Frippertronics. Its strength lies entirely in this minimalism.

I chose to approach it with the utmost respect for the original: the idea wasn't to overhaul the piece, but simply to take part in that atmosphere. I added a bass line designed as an underlying current, accompanying the piano without overpowering it. It’s my way of sharing a dialogue with a song I have always loved....

N.B. For all my videos, I always use @lab_audio_technology cables.
