Debby Boone, my Beloved Friend and the Great Legend and ICON, I had such a great, fun, wonderful and happy time with you again. Here is the third video I took of you at Dizzy's Club in New York City on 08/09/26 for the Tony Bennett Centennial Tribute Show. It was very nice of you to sing Happy Birthday to Debra Winer. I also loved the duet with you and Billy Stritch on "I've Got The World On A String." It was great to see two Grammy Award Winning Artists (Debby Boone and Billy Stritch) perform together. It was such a very enjoyable show.

Debby Boone, my Beloved Friend & the Great Legend & ICON, it was great seeing you back in New York City. This time it was for Songbook Sundays: The Tony Bennett Centennial at Dizzy's Club in New York City on 08/09/26. Everything was perfect including your beautiful and pleasant presence and voice, the songs you sang, the band, the food, the venue, the view and my front row seat. The other singers were amazing as well, celebrated jazz singer Gabrielle Stravelli, rising young artist David Marino and Grammy Award Winner Billy Stritch who was the Musical Director, Pianist and one of the Vocalists of the night. The band was great - Marc MacLean on drums, Caylen Brant on Bass and Jacob Chung on saxophone. Deborah Grace Winer, the amazing Theater Artist, Writer and Storyteller did a wonderful job hosting the show and telling stories about the songs of Tony Bennett as well as stories about Tony Bennett, Debby Boone and Rosemary Clooney who was Debby Boone's mother-in-law. However, the main reason for me being at this show was to see The Great Debby Boone who has been one of my Most Favorite Singers and Biggest Inspirations and Influences since growing up in the late 1970s and early 1980. I listened to my mother's records that she had by Debby Boone. I would sit by the window as a little boy and listen to "You Light Up My Life" and listen to that song at home as well as other songs by Debby Boone that my mother had. Debby Boone has been one of the dearest and most special and important people of my entire 53 year old life. I will be 53 on August 22. I am very happy that this show was a part of my August 2026 Birthday Month Celebration and that Debby Boone was a part of it.

A true music legend joins me for one of my favorite conversations yet!

Grammy Award winner Debby Boone stops by The Roundtable to talk about her upcoming appearance at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s “Songbook Sundays: The Tony Bennett Centennial,” where she’ll celebrate the music and legacy of the legendary Tony Bennett alongside an incredible lineup of performers.her remarkable career, plus her latest film Six Days in Evergreen, now streaming on Amazon Prime.

We also chat about her upcoming performance in the McCallum Theatre Cabaret Series this fall, what continues to inspire her after decades in the spotlight, and why the Great American Songbook still resonates with audiences today.

Of course, we couldn’t let her leave without talking about family. Debby shares beautiful stories about growing up with her father, Pat Boone, the influence of her legendary mother-in-law Rosemary Clooney, and the incredible journey that has taken her from “You Light Up My Life” to a lifetime of unforgettable performances.

Warm, funny, gracious, and every bit the icon you hope she’ll be—this is a conversation I know you’ll love.

Here are some stellar drawings by participants in our online drawing meet-up last Tuesday. Our artist president Jessica Daryl Winer @jdwinerstudio led us in sketching from scenes of Central Park presented via Zoom.
.
Though we were working from the same images, our drawings looked nothing alike. Fascinating to see everyone’s unique mark-making!

Video is on our website under member events if you’d like to watch. Or join us for our next meet up in a few months. DM us if you’d like to get on our email list for community events.

Still buzzing from this unforgettable experience 💫

It was an honor to perform as a Pakistani actress in NYC at the legendary Actors Studio in Shellen Lubin’s new play Arranged — a powerful story representing Pakistan and a Pakistani woman’s journey through life’s ups and downs.

Deepest thanks to director Lisa Milinazzo for the invitation and for the kind, affirming words (see first photo). I’m so grateful to be seen and appreciated in a space like this.

In an industry where we often submit countless self-tapes with little to no response, such real feedback from respected casting directors and theatre makers is gold.

To every South Asian actress, woman of color, or emerging artist reading this: your voice matters. Your light doesn’t need permission to shine. Find and serve your creative community. Tell stories that matter to you, move you, light you up. We’ve got this 💪🏼

The rest will align in divine timing.
