Another week another #CMTMONDAY!! A friendly face and sister to all, our VP Panhellenic miss @keiraakim!!

“Hi everyone!! I’m Keira, a rising junior majoring in Biology on the Pre-Med track, and I’m beyond excited and so grateful to be serving as our chapter’s VP Panhellenic! I’m from Phoenix, AZ, and outside of school you can usually find me crafting my Pinterest boards, trying new coffee shops, going on walks, and driving around Malibu with my friends!

Coming from out of state and growing up with only brothers, I was definitely intimidated by the idea of recruitment. I had no idea what to expect, and I worried about whether I would find a place where I truly fit in. The second I walked into Delta Gamma, I felt like I could be myself. Every conversation felt genuine, and for the first time during recruitment, I stopped worrying about where I belonged.

Looking back, I remember leaving DG each day, hoping I would get to come back the next. It was the chapter I couldn’t stop thinking about, and I admired every woman I had the chance to meet. Now, getting the opportunity to serve this chapter alongside our CMT this year is something I never take for granted. Delta Gamma has helped me grow into a better version of myself, and being able to give back to the chapter that has given me so much means the world. Always believe you will end up where you are truly meant to be, and the rest will work itself out 🤍”

We adore you, Keira!

For nearly a decade, fraternities and sororities at the University of Maryland have been leading sustainability efforts through the Green Chapter Program, powered by @sustainableumd. Since 2018, chapters have been cleaning up College Park, reducing waste, promoting sustainable habits, and finding creative ways to make a positive impact. These photos capture just a few ways FSL has embraced sustainability since the program’s inception in 2018.

🌏 Interested in becoming a Green Chapter?

Green Chapter certification recognizes chapters that are committed to sustainability through education, service, and action. Chapters can earn certification by:

1️⃣ Appointing a Sustainability Chair;
2️⃣ Encouraging members to become Green Terps;
3️⃣ Completing sustainability-focused initiatives throughout the year.

📲 Registration for the 2026–27 Green Chapter Program is now open: go.umd.edu/Register-Green-Chapter
