🌈💜 PLUR4LIFE COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: HOUSE OF JANDRA 💜🌈
@alejandraroman555 @houseofjandra @dh4mchi
Sometimes the people who have been in the community the longest aren’t the only ones who deserve recognition. The people who are just getting started and immediately begin giving back matter just as much.

Today, PLUR4LIFE wants to shine a light on House Of Jandra — Alejandra. 🫶

Although she has been part of the Chicagoland rave community for less than two years, the growth she’s made in that time has been incredible.

She originally started by creating weekly promotional videos highlighting rave events happening throughout Chicago, helping people discover parties, DJs, and opportunities to get involved in the scene.

But she didn’t stop there.

🍽️ Alejandra Eats — highlighting local food and Chicago food experiences.
🎧 DJing — stepping behind the decks and becoming part of the music herself.
🔥 DH4M — Dance Harder For Me — creating and throwing her own events.
💃 Dance classes — creating opportunities for people to learn, move, and connect through dance.

That’s a LOT of community involvement in a relatively short amount of time. 💜

And that’s exactly what PLUR is about.

It’s not about how long you’ve been raving.
It’s not about how many festivals you’ve attended.
It’s not about being an “OG.”

It’s about what you contribute to the community. ❤️

Chicago’s rave scene continues to evolve because new people bring new ideas, new energy, new creativity, and new connections.

Alejandra is a perfect example of someone who didn’t just join the community — she found ways to help it grow.

At PLUR4LIFE, we want to recognize everyone who contributes to making our community bigger, more connected, welcoming, and creative — whether you’ve been here for decades or you’re just getting started.

So here’s to House Of Jandra. 🌈🎧

Keep creating.
Keep connecting.
Keep building.
Keep spreading PLUR.

Chicago’s rave community is better because you’re part of it. 💜

✌️ PEACE
❤️ LOVE
🤝 UNITY

🌈✨ KANDI & PLUR: MORE THAN JUST A BRACELET ✨🌈

If you’ve ever been to a rave, you’ve probably seen them — colorful beaded bracelets covering people’s arms. 🌈

They’re called kandi, and exchanging them is one of the most recognizable traditions in rave culture.

But kandi is about so much more than jewelry. It’s about connection, kindness, friendship, and community. ❤️

One of the traditional ways to exchange kandi is through the PLUR handshake:

✌️ PEACE — Make a peace sign.
❤️ LOVE — Make a heart with your hands.
🤝 UNITY — Bring your hands together.
🫶 RESPECT — Exchange the kandi bracelet.

Then you slide the bracelet onto each other’s wrist — creating a small moment of connection between two people who may have never met before.

This photo captures one of those moments with House Of Jandra, an active member of the rave community and an up-and-coming DJ, producer, and event creator who continues to contribute to Chicago’s music and rave scene. 🎶💜

And that’s what makes traditions like kandi trading so special.

You can walk into an event surrounded by complete strangers and leave having made new friends, shared memories, and connections that can last far beyond the night itself.

And remember: you never have to trade kandi. If someone doesn’t want to participate, respect their choice. Consent and respecting boundaries are part of PLUR, too. 🫶

Kandi is a bracelet.
PLUR is the meaning behind it.

So next time you’re at a rave and someone offers you kandi, take a moment to connect, share the love, and spread a little kindness. 🌈

PEACE ✌️ • LOVE ❤️ • UNITY 🤝 • RESPECT 🫶

🌈 SPREAD PLUR, ONE KANDI AT A TIME. 🌈
