There’s no expectation of privacy out in the wild.

Every lens is free to roam. Or capture.

But on the track and in the field, the mission was to claim. And Friday’s session at the USATF Outdoor Para & National Championships in New York guaranteed that medal chasers would see a solo attempt to link up with a prize.

True exhibitions of speed delivered world leading marks while the decathlon was decided in a blip of two days as the intensity of 800 meter qualifiers felt more like finals.

And now, at the half way point in the program, the jostling from lane to lane will have to exceed what came before it since more national treasure are at stake.

When the commotion competition finally cleared in New York this summer after a long-awaited NBA title and World Cup — track and field arrived to turn the temperature up in the city.

The opening day of outdoor nationals on Thursday nudged Icahn Stadium into for days of competition as the first national champions were crowned on the track while others advanced to the next round in their events.

With more on the way, the facility barely has time to contemplate how it will contain the upcoming sold out crowd while a perfect combo of city, sport and weather is a silent reminder of how thousands will spend their Friday night.

I’ve chatted with friends in the running industry about how the annual nature of US Champs always marks a good moment for reflection. A pause to consider our career wins and how we’ve grown since the last one.

With the launch of @meetat7.studios, this year was a big one! It hasn’t been easy, there have 100% been times where it’s been all-caps HARD. But it’s been worth it.

Big thanks to the teammates, clients, mentors and friends who have built and supported what we have today, you know who you are. It takes a village, and I am very grateful for mine 🫂

A week out and we’re still riding the high of this damn fun night. Shout out the many hundreds of local lovers of good design and the great outdoors who braved thunderstorms and block-long lines to celebrate our newest print issue.

Lofoten is next. Seattle after. Maybe London. Maybe Tokyo. we’ll see where the winds blow us.

We love NYC! The hometown crowd came out in force to celebrate the launch of FM02. Line down the block, close to 500 people came thru throughout the night.

Huge shout out everyone who showed up and had fun. So good to see familiar faces and meet new many folks too!
