Pundemonium had a fabulous sold-out return to the @finestcityimprov stage tonight - call us dentists, but it’s the TOOTH! Congratulations to tonight’s winners, Brooke Larsen (Punger Games) and Kel Moriarty (Battle of the Pundits, with her speech on aging and body parts ON HER BIRTHDAY)!

Can we also say it was high time for an all-female podium at Pundemonium? We love our male competitors but tonight’s winners were estrogenerous with the puns. Also, shout-out to Kel’s birthday crew, the KELevangelists!

See you at the next Pundemonium on Thursday, June 11!

Photo dump from an intellectually stimulating* weekend for our entire household. Feat: Another successful pun contest hosted, friend’s horror short seen at a film fest, Ginger’s first dog training class (major Billy Madison vibes, as he was the only non-puppy), a hike down to Black’s Beach, an improv show with Breaking the News, and a fabulous Off the Record writing day with San Diego Fiction Writers, during which I helped explain Veggie Tales to a Spaniard.

The horrors still persist, but I’ve got to document these times because they’re proof this administration can’t control everything and art can help save us.

*Yes, up to and including the multiple scenes about chicken hookers.

Wow, chickens! It was a PECKED house tonight at Pundemonium! Congratulations to our winners: Geoffrey Mayne and Rob Diamanté tied for first in Battle of the Pundits (giving a one word at a time victory speech of course), and Brooke Larsen took home her first Golden Nugget in the Punger Games! And a huge thank you of course, to everyone who showed up tonight. There are other cool vegetables out there, but you’re the real MV-PEAS! 🫛Watch this space for our next show date!

It was a rainy Thursday night ☔️, and multiple competitors DROPped some puns and PUDDLEd their wordplay wares - but only two emerged with the Golden Nuggets! These aren’t PRECIPITATION trophies, kids. Congratulations to Rob Diamanté, who loved the audience and came up with plenty of Ancient Rome puns FORUM in Battle of the Pundits - and Mateo Statz took home his first Golden Nugget after spitting some PRIME math puns.

Thanks again to everyone who came out to competitor watch/laugh/groan. See you at next show: Friday, March 20, 7pm at @finestcityimprov!

It was a November to remember at Pundemonium tonight! Even though one of our Golden Nugget winners had to make a quick EGGsit, our host still managed to WING it with her questionable photoshop skills to get a shot of them together! Congratulations to Rob Diamante for his pun-stacked newscast about famous musicians in Battle of the Pundits, and to Dale Hopkins for throwing it down and showing us how it’s done on the spot in the Punger Games! Special thank you to our musical opening act, @blennon.mcblartney. Great night, great crowd, great pun was had by all.

See you all again at our next Pundemonium on 12/5, 7pm, back at @finestcityimprov!

It’s raining puns - halleLLUVIA! (That was a bilingual pun, folks). Tonight’s show was fantastic. Congratulations to our champions Geoffrey Mayne (Battle of the Pundits), Lisa Tomanelli (Punger Games), and Richard Lederer, who took home the MVP winner’s pie for Pi Day! Thanks so much to everyone who came out. See you at the next Pundemonium Friday, April 11 at 7pm!

Call us squirrels, because last night’s Pundemonium was NUTS! A sold-out show, TWO pun raps, attempted bribery with homemade dumplings, and the official launch of Dr. Richard Lederer’s latest book on puns (which is partially dedicated to our host, @flocksies 🥹). It was so much fun. Thank you so much to our judges, participants, and everyone who showed up! And congratulations to our winners, Ron Donoho (for his Battle of the Pundits speech about pickleball full of pickle puns) and Brandon Hensgens (who emerged victorious in the Punger Games to win his first Pundemonium Golden Nugget)! #puns #puncontest #competitivepunning #sandiegopundemonium #sandiegocomedy #sandiegoimprov
