We don’t just build bows, we build confidence!

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Well hello… it’s been a minute.

@west_of_louis and I decided to get married, move across the country, and start new jobs all within a few weeks! The dust is finally starting to settle and now we’re hunkering back into our old routine and hobbies. We found a new 3D archery trail in the foothills and can’t wait to lock in so this is the best year yet! Thank you @diamondarchery & @bowtecharchery for making such solid bows and to @truball_axcel for making that release so sweet!

Also shout out to @fluffhardware for keeping me cute and capable with my folding knife earrings on the trail - I wear them practically everyday!

Follow along to see what’s next! ☺️

Last weekends State Shoot in Lewiston! Super proud of myself and how my family and friends did. Shout-out to my sister with her first year, she did Super good and I'm really proud of her. Super lucky I get the chance to do this. I'll be posting and shooting more, I plan to take this more seriously! Shooting my target bow for indoor next! Still working on getting it sighted in.

Late post tonight guys. I’ve been on the Eastern Shore since 5am this morning working for this goal. It may shock many of you, and many probably don’t care. Quite frankly it’s embarrassing to say this….

I killed my first deer today. 92 pound Whitetail Doe. My heart was beating out of my chest like I had just pounded a white monster and ran a mile uphill.

For 10 years I’ve been using a camera, for about 8 of those years I’ve been hunting. I started hunting when I met my wife, she had grown up hunting, I had always wanted to but never had the chance. But for these 8 years I went from bottom of the barrel filmmaker to a relatively prestigious and experienced one in the outdoors industry. So it’s only expected to be a good hunter as well.

Well, I would say I’m a good hunter, I’m ethical, I work hard for it, and I don’t give up. Even after 8 years of disappointment and frustration, I was always excited to get back in the woods to try again, praying to god I would be provided the opportunity. That opportunity never seemed to come, and with social pressure of the industry and my peers all being extremely good and experienced hunters with TV shows and more, I couldn’t let people know the truth. I was simply ashamed.

How could this guy who works in the industry not have killed a deer? My wife’s killed way more than I have. And yeah, my ego has been taking a hit silently for almost a decade. People would ask what I loved more, filming fishing or hunting, they’d ask about my hunts and the trips I’ve gone on, and then comes the questions about my first buck, or my biggest buck…. And I had to change the subject or flat out lie. And that’s genuinely just how I felt about it, embarrassed at 25 years old.

So there you have it, me, Cam the hunting Camera guy for almost a decade, just now killed his first deer. Not even a buck mind you!

I can easily say, this is one of the best days of my life. All the years I’ve spent, and my grandpa Chuck looking down on me from up above.
