This made my day. Thank you Daisy for your kind and positive words.
.
At the end of February this year @myiadt Character Makeup students from Design for Film. Came to me in my studio for 2 weeks as a pilot.
We wanted to see:
1 - Would students be happy to come and stay in Connemara like on a residency or field trip as part of their studies in IADT
2 - Would they be happy with what they learned?
3 - Would this be something they would want to repeat and do again?
.
I think by the looks on their faces the answers were YES. It was hugely successful!!
.
We worked hard but we relaxed too, having lunch on the beach. Some even went for a swim before coming to the studio.
.
I can’t wait to have them back, and for the new 2nd years to experience Stiúideo Fia.
.
Thank you IADT for allowing this to happen.
.

Long overdue recap of my experience down at @stiuideofia in Lettermore with @paulmcdonnelldesign (had to clear a lot of storage first!) This is the first half there’ll be more to come! I had an amazing time and covered so much in a short space of time including the full process of making fake teeth to fit my mouth, chin piece prosthetic, Flatplate which will overlap, painting fake eyes along with much more! I would 100 percent recommend spending the time down at Stiuideo Fia as we’re so lucky to have @paulmcdonnelldesign such a knowledgeable and kind person.

Congratulations to the extremely talented Diana Simanovic - @dirock_m_art, resident at Beckett House, for winning this years Christmas card competition! 🎉

Diana said... 🗣️ "I was inspired by a fair in my hometown of Vilnius, Lithuania. Before the pandemic, we had a tradition that at the end of November, on the main square of the old city, a Christmas tree is lit and stalls open. The smell of cinnamon, oranges and various pastries was everywhere. The benches were decorated with beautiful nutcrackers and little carousels. I really miss that time, so I created a piece of art that reflects the joy the fair brings." 🎄🎅

Our card will be produced on sustainable FSC recycled materials ❤️🌍

The final batch of the #osocactuscat sketches by you! Now to the prizes and when I’m going to announce what: because this little event was so impulsive and I was not preparing anything beforehand, I decided not to give specific terms and details on whose sketch I’m using and what the prize is. I have already finished one doll and I’m planning to create 4 more dolls within one month, it’s when I’ll share all the dolls based on your sketches and prepare your gifts! Sorry it’s going to take a little more time and I know it’d be much more preferable if I could share the results right now, I wish I could! I’m extremely happy and grateful there was all the interest in this little challenge, I’ve been dreaming of running an art challenge for a long time, and I’ll be doing so, as soon as I can, and when I do it’ll be well prepared, for this one I’ll be thankful for your patience💗 it’s an amazing experience to collaborate with you like that, I know I don’t share much of my thoughts on your sketches, but I’ve learned so much by just seeing your point of view on my doll. Thank you!! I’ll keep you updated with the 4 more dolls I’ll make🌵❤️ заключительная порция ваших рисунков!

The second batch of the #osocactuscat sketches😊 now I’ll tell you what’s going to happen next: I collected all your 53 drawings and I have 4/5 blank cactus cat dolls. I’ll be making four more dolls based on your sketches, I have already chosen two of them and one is ready, you can see a dragon fruit cactus cat inspired by @sarqq ! I loved the sketch so much that I made a doll immediately when I saw it one week ago💗 This is an example what’s the collaboration of this little challenge will look like. It may not be 100% same as the sketch. Stay tuned to see the final batch of the sketches in the next post and read some more details🌵🥰 смотрим вторую порцию ваших рисунков!

Here comes the first batch of the #osocactuscat sketches you guys sent me! I believe it’s 53 of them all together, so many, I’m super happy, thank you for lots of fun you gave me💓 who’s you fav?? I love them all, both color schemes and the versions when you decided to change the concept and/or shape of the cactus cat! You can see I have made one choice already🥰 I’ll show what inspired me to make the pink cat - the sketch by @sarqq in the next post! I tried to tag everyone who’s on insta, please let me know if I didn’t tag you!🌵 выкладываю первую порцию котокактусов, которых вы мне прислали!!
