Another high school dance festival in the books❤️❤️❤️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Grateful for all the dancers at this year's Regional High School Dance Festival who added me to their class schedule; thank you for trusting me with your learning at this event! I had an amazing time meeting new young dancers full of energy and ready to learn new styles and ideas🤩. Thank you @tamudance @nationalhsdancefestival for organizing such an awesome event that provides so many opportunities for young dancers everywhere🫶🥹. Special thanks to accompanists @ilyajanos and @queenbritmusic who made teaching such a breeze, and classes so magical.🤩🙏

The biggest highlights of the festival for me this year were spending some extra time hanging out with our dancers and getting to know them better; watching them explore and soar in workshops, lectures, and at scholarship auditions...and of course, watching them perform faculty and student choreography works in three different showcases. Proud doesn't even begin to describe it.❤️

I'm especially grateful to the chaperones for all their help on this trip, without them we wouldn't have been able to do so much at this event. J, I'm so happy I get to go on these adventures with you...cheers to a successful five days!🥳

It's the end of an era.

It's pretty amazing to work with your friends every day, and I'll definitely miss seeing your faces as often as I do now...but...we move forward, one step at a time: to grow, to thrive, to live. THANK YOU both for bringing so much growth and love to the program, and for raising the bar

Reflecting, I wouldn't change a thing. Not even the crazy things. Grow through what you go through. The future is bright and I'm excited for the new adventures that will come our way. Grateful for these moments❤️❤️❤️

Back in September I choreographed a piece knowing I'd have to trust these dancers to continue doing the work that's always necessary for a successful performance while I was on maternity leave for two months in November and December...little did I know I'd soon be put on "house arrest" (as I like to call it) for my health and Aria's safe delivery, turning two months into three, changing all our rehearsal and class plans.

While I was out, both @wisedancer and @theo_talton took the reins and made sure our dancers had the support necessary to continue working on ensuring the success of the work, and for that I will always be grateful.❤️

Last night at the @fdeodance NHSDA Honors Concert, after a month of rehearsals now that I'm back to business, I saw my piece finally come to life. How lucky am I to not only do what I love for a living, but to work with individuals who put just as much energy and love into their craft, inspiring me to work harder and match their energy.
