POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

She's a frieze-published authooooor, darling! (And all she could think about this past week was whether she should have put a line break somewhere...)

No but srsly being part of @friezeofficial & @phileas.art biannual 'New Writers Programme' in Vienna, Austria, was such a pleasure and a privilege. Thank you to my lovely co-participants (tagged in the first slide, go check 'em out!!!), the kind and compassionate @nell_hargrove, @margheritabelcredi and @malusstahlus of Phileas and frieze's brilliant @vanessapeterson, @chloeellenstead and @ivana.cholakova for making this such an incredible rewarding experience.

Also, big thanks to the ever-impressive @cokes_tony and his wonderful "SM BNGRZ.04-06" (2026) on view at @felixgaudlitz til the end of the month.

A few highlights from last week’s Art Writing workshop with the Frieze New Writers Programme.

Over the course of the programme, eight aspiring writers worked closely with members of the frieze editorial team, gaining insight into different forms of art writing, from exhibition reviews to pitching ideas, alongside writing exercises and conversations with the aim of building a repertoire of texts for an online Critic’s Guide of Vienna.

A big thank you to all participants and to our fantastic collaborators from the frieze editorial team for making these days so engaging and inspiring! And to Simone Molinari, participant from our first Art Writing workshop in 2024, for sharing insights as a guest speaker.

A few months ago, I looked around and realized: there’s just too much talent here to let it go unseen. So I decided — if no one’s giving us a platform yet, we’ll build our own.

In a shared space at our university, I brought together a group of talented Art × Science students and started planning our first collective exhibition. Each of us contributed artworks, wrote texts to accompany them, and worked together to make it real.

With a few hours spent on Canva, some euros at the local print shop, and a whole lot of energy — we transformed a blank walls into a space of shared vision and artistic expression!

This was a small step, but also the beginning of something I’ve dreamed of since I was a child: creating and curating my own exhibition. I always thought I’d wait until I’m older, more experienced… but this time, I chose to start where I am, with what I have.

So maybe this was a test run. Maybe it was “just” a small university show.
But we made it.
And it’s only the beginning.

Grateful for the team that stood behind this idea, and excited for all the meaningful stories we’ll create and share in the future!
