Why did an ambulance pull up in front of our school?
We recently had the incredible opportunity to see an ambulance up close and dive into its fascinating world. From the flashing lights to the life-saving equipment, every little detail sparked curiosity and wonder. It's moments like these that remind us of the importance of early exposure to emergency services. Not only did we learn about the heroes who ride in these vehicles, but we also discovered the vital role they play in keeping us safe. Oh what a night!
Last night was truly miraculous and quite eventful. As you all know, Ellie likes to keep us on our toes and make sure there’s never a dull moment. Minutes leading up to last night’s wine and cheese event, Ellie started to vomit; she felt lethargic and irritable. While some of us were dressed up and ready to party, we quickly reported to action and took Ellie to a ct scan to check her ventricles and fluid levels. The ct scan report indicated that Ellie’s ventricles got smaller, which means the shunt is doing its job and draining the CSF fluid. Ellie is feeling symptomatic since her brain is adjusting to new fluid levels, which may need to be further adjusted in a few days.
As they say, the show must go on, and the wine event did indeed! The event was a great success and exceeded our expectations. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported. We would like to acknowledge last night’s MVP @jrumeld @wearegradient who took care of every single detail in planning and executing the evening to perfection. Thank you to our very special neurosurgeon, Dr. Greenfield for attending and sharing a few words about The Children’s Brain Tumor Project, a research lab he co-founded which focuses on improving outcomes for children with rare brain tumors.

We had the privilege of announcing a $10,000 grant to the Making Headway Foundation in our commitment to provide emotional support to pediatric cancer families.

Kesher Minyan, Kesher kiddush, and KJYD groups and tot circle will all take place at Ramaz Middle School this Shabbat. Please join us for Minyan beginning at 9:30am in the Middle School L1 Beit Midrash, followed by a gala Chanukah kiddush lunch in the lobby Falk Auditorium. Youth groups begin at 10am and will include lunch, followed by a children’s magic show at 12:15.
