Night dance performances and campfire 🔥 Once it got dark, the whole atmosphere shifted, turning into a completely different side of MURAL CAMP. Gathering around the fire, dancing, talking, or simply zoning out. Everyone spending the night in their own way, yet somehow creating one shared space together. The night's still young.

Born in December 1986 in Fukushima, Japan. Began working primarily in Tokyo in 2010. He mainly creates patterns using flowing curves. These forms are inspired by the sense of “flow” felt in skateboarding and snowboarding, the “smoke” rising from a cigarette in between moments, and the “plants” seen in everyday life. Strongly influenced by tagging and calligraphy within graffiti culture, he bases his work on Japanese characters and various letterforms he has encountered over time. From these foundations, he creates patterns that resemble text, yet are not actual letters. These works evoke imagery of portals to other dimensions, the universe, and ancient ruins—collectively referred to as “TRIP.” By adding a sense of three-dimensionality to flat surfaces, he aims to create a visual “glitch” in the viewer’s perception. Through this effect, he hopes each viewer can take a mental “journey” into their own imagined “SPACE” and enjoy the experience.

My work is shaped by a lifetime of operating at the edge of precision and consequence. As a former U.S. Navy test pilot, I worked in environments where discipline, structure, and calibrated decision-making were matters of survival. Today, those same principles guide my studio practice. Rather than abandoning that past, I translate it. Aviation demanded clarity under pressure; art allows me to investigate ambiguity, space, and emotional resonance. My work explores the tension between control and surrender, structure and disruption, intention, and accident. Each piece becomes a negotiation between discipline and intuition — a controlled encounter with the unknown. The cockpit once framed my perception of space and horizon; now, the canvas does.
