From beginning to end, the Order of the Rising Sun Concert honoring Henry Cisneros was a magical experience. ✨
The evening was filled with beautiful music, moving tributes, and an outpouring of community spirit. Music Director and Conductor Jeffrey Kahane and our incredible San Antonio Philharmonic musicians delivered a performance that was both powerful and unforgettable, providing an artistic celebration worthy of the occasion.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Henry Cisneros for his immense support of our organization and for allowing us to be a part of this momentous celebration. It was an honor to pay tribute to your lifelong contributions.

Thank you to the many dignitaries and guests who joined us in this celebration, and a special thanks to our culinary partner Chef Johnny Hernandez and his team for their extraordinary food and beverage offerings that truly elevated the ballroom reception.

To our dedicated San Antonio Philharmonic staff, whose tireless efforts and passion make concerts like this possible, thank you. And to our incredible volunteers, we couldn’t do this without you.

Here’s to more nights like these that remind us why music matters to our community.

Bringing history to life. ✨

A huge thank you to Diego Chavez and his incredible team for their extraordinary work on the Historic Polychromy Project, which lit up the Scottish Rite Hall during our season finale weekend.

Through projection mapping technology, this project reimagines the building’s original vibrant color schemes, blending architectural preservation with digital art. The result was a stunning visual celebration of our new home—honoring the rich history of Scottish Rite Hall while bringing fresh energy to the heart of downtown San Antonio.

Thank you, Diego, for sharing your artistry with us and helping to make our season finale weekend even more special.

Art In the Open | Meet the artist behind Recursive: Diego Chavez—a digital media artist and creative technologist exploring the poetic edge of code, sound, and visual expression. Through live coding and generative installations, he creates ambient worlds where audio and visuals evolve in real time—never repeating, always unfolding.
