Dear Camp ‘26, I don’t think I’ll ever have the words to fully explain what this week meant to me. 🤍

I came into camp carrying so much. I was overthinking everything, letting fear and emotions take over, and honestly didn’t know what this week would look like. But God already knew. He used every conversation, every worship night, every prayer, and every person to remind me that He never stopped pursuing me.

This week, I made the most important decision of my life.

Three years ago, I got baptized because I thought that’s what I was supposed to do. I thought that because I was a Christian and everyone around me was doing it, I had to as well. But the truth is… I had never truly surrendered my heart. I knew about God, but I had never fully accepted Him as my Savior.

Over the last few years, He has loved me through every high and every low, every doubt, every fear, every failure, and every season where I felt unworthy. He never gave up on me.

This week, I finally said yes. Not because anyone else did, but because I know who Jesus is and what He’s done in my life. Getting re-baptized wasn’t just another moment—it was the moment I publicly declared that my life belongs to Him. I’ll never be perfect, but I’ll never have to walk alone.

To my Papua New Guinea team, thank you for every laugh, every worship moment, every game, and every memory. We may not have won 😂, but God gave us something so much greater.

Thank you, @_agustinavazquez_ , for constantly pointing me back to Jesus. @andreaaamartinezzz, thank you for loving me so well and for baptizing me—it made such a special moment even more meaningful. @emilygraceee00 , thank you for the conversations that reminded me of truths I needed to hear.

And thank you to @championforest and @cfstudents_champions. You’ve changed my life, and serving in worship and production has been one of God’s greatest blessings in my life.

Camp ‘26 wasn’t just another camp.

It was the week I stopped living off someone else’s faith and finally made my own decision to fully follow Jesus.

With so much love,
— Shirley 🤍

Coming into camp this year, I had no idea what to expect. There was a different weight in the air, and it felt like God was going to move in powerful ways, but I didn’t know what that meant. Now, after experiencing it and seeing the mighty ways the Lord moved this week, I can say that I now understand why there was such a weight to it. I witnessed the Lord answer prayers and change the lives of not only those in my group but also people all across the camp. I am in complete awe of what the Lord did and how His Spirit moved throughout the room. All I can express is my gratitude for what Jesus has done in my life and in the lives of others this week!

“Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!”
