I’m only a month late with this post but here’s the recap from the Steel City Super Jam 2026! ✨🎶🥁
I had a truly incredible time working with the newly formed and only one week old band DIJONATHAN.
It was quite a challenge to work quickly and with new folks. I got to play one of my all time favorite songs by Bowie and felt really happy and proud of the work we accomplished!
All the bands sounded amazing !! It was super cool to see what direction everyone took with the music.

Huge thanks to @golittlegiant @bottlerocketpgh and @913wyep for putting it all together—to everyone who came out to enjoy and support this event—and extra special thanks to the homies @diegobyrnesart @elilangholt and @henryschultzforreal for bringing top notch energy and effort that week.

Steel City Super Jam 2026 is officially in the books.

The final performance last night truly felt like witnessing Pittsburgh music history in real time.

Four bands that didn’t exist six days ago…
Playing songs that didn’t exist SIX days ago…

I can’t thank WYEP, Bottlerocket, and most importantly, the musicians enough for believing in the process and being brave enough to create music this way. And for everyone who showed up to support the final event last night, thank you, thank you.

The Super Jam may be a new concept, but it confirms what we already know:
Pittsburgh music has depth. It has numbers. It has wildly diverse, ridiculously talented artists who are NOT messing around.

Next year, 20 new musicians will get this same opportunity and I’ll repeat this until we run out. With your support, we can keep doing these for a long time.

I’m proud of this community and that we’re constantly building.
And I’m proud of you 🫶

Earlier this month, during our fellowship info session, members of our studio community shared what it’s like to be an artist at Radiant Hall and how their studio practices have shaped their artistry.

With our 3rd River Fellowship, we’re excited to offer one year of free studio space to 10 artists residing in communities along the Ohio River.

The priority deadline for our one-year studio fellowship is this Friday, January 23.

Thanks so much to @antondefade for the sweet synth bass on this track, to @chizmonaut for the awesome night Jam cover art, and to all of you listeners out there who have been following along with our 1 single per month in 2025 release journey. We can’t wait to share what we’re cooking up for 2026 with you!

Story time.. When Like A Movie disbanded, I joined The Composure. Punchline was my favorite band for years, and when I got the chance to be in a band with Paul and Cory, I was NOT missing that. I moved to Pittsburgh and had some of the best times of my life.

Eventually Punchline met with us all together and asked Paul to rejoin on the condition that The Composure would be signed and managed by their label, Modern Short Stories. The funniest part was how mad Cory was… until he got asked to join too 😂❤️ I don’t blame either of them, and the years that followed were incredible.

We shared a practice space, a label, a van, every green room. We played SXSW, toured with Barely Blind, and released Strings Attached (my main writing contribution being “Spinning of the World”). I became so close with everyone and got to experience so much cool stuff. I learned so much too.

When I got married, they took me around the Northeast for some shows and toasted to me on a rooftop in Philly. I’ll never forget hearing the Vipers songs come to life. We played hackey-sack literally everywhere—non-negotiable. Steve has produced my solo songs, and Cory has drummed on all of them. I also met the good brother Harrison during this time!! 🤘🏼

At SXSW, I remember The Composure stayed out until sunrise while Punchline went back to the host house like responsible adults. I was also in a band with Paul and Chris for a bit and we made some really creative stuff—Chris was probably the only one who loved mainstream pop and rap as much as I did.

Another memory: getting to NYC. Meek Mill was playing upstairs in the main venue and I was hype about that. Then we walked down the street, I saw Fatboy, and NO ONE cared—and Cory was too stressed about us falling behind the group to stop for a picture 😂

Steve ended up officiating my wedding and became one of my closest friends. I’m not saying all this to kiss their asses… just to say: man, what seriously great guys. I can’t wait to catch up on Saturday and make another killer memory with all of you.

They say don’t meet your idols… but I’m so glad I did!

See yinz Saturday! 💛🖤

Another amazing Halloween of Destruction party for the books!! This year’s theme was “otherworldly,” and we went as Terry and Korvo from Solar Opposites 😆

It took me a couple weeks working little by little to make our masks, and I was so happy with how they turned out. Made with poster board, wire, cloth, cardboard, tape, fabric glue, hot glue, felt, paint, mesh, and styrofoam half spheres! Swipe through to see some of the process, reference photos, and clips of the night! 😄
