Just arrived this 1961 Kay K-775 Jazz II Thinline Hollow Body Electric Guitar in its original two-tone hard shell case! Link in our profile. - The Jazz II is one of the best instruments Kay ever produced, at least from a practical playability standpoint. While largely forgotten now the model does have an historic connection to the seminal early 1960s British blues movement, being used by Eric Clapton in his pre-Yardbirds band The Roosters with Tom McGuinness. Clapton got his from Bell’s Musical instruments, Ltd. in Surbiton, Surry, who actually imported them directly from Kay in Chicago. Bell’s catalog listed the Jazz II at just over 117 pounds (plus another 21 for the case), but on hire-purchase (installment) plan one could be had at 12 Pounds down and just under a tenner a week. - - - - #kayjazzii #kayguitar #kayguitars #kelvinatorheadstock #guitarforsale

Just arrived and available this 1969 Gibson SG Special in its original black tolex hard shell case! •Link found in our profile • This is a very nice example of the later 1960’s style SG Special, clean overall and an excellent player. The guitar mounts two hot P-90 pickups in the larger pickguard adopted in 1966, when the SG series was redesigned to use a single universally routed body for all variants. It also has the streamlined and much more solid neck joint adopted at the same time, which finally cured the heel issues that often plagued earlier SG’s. The cherry finish is darker than earlier examples, with an almost burgundy hue. • • • #gibsonsg #gibsonsgspecial #gibsonp90 #gibsonvibrola #vintagegibson

Just arrived a 1966 Firebird I in a beautiful Frost Blue re-finish! Read more by clicking on the link in our profile. - The nicely done powder blue refinish spotlights the fluidly sculpted Honduras mahogany and one-piece glued-in mahogany neck. The rosewood fingerboard is unbound and dot inlaid and was the same for all models. The non-reverse I is distinguished by offering two plastic-covered P-90 pickups instead of the mini-humbuckers used on earlier models, giving it a somewhat raunchier sound. - - - #gibsonfirebird #gibsonfirebirdi #gibsonguitars #gibsonguitar #guitarstagram #guitarlove #firebirdguitar #firebirdi #retrofretvintageguitars #gibsonpickups #gibsonp90 #offsetguitars #gibson #gibsons #electricguitars

Just arrived a 1958 Vega Director Model A-60 Tube Amplifier! •LINK IN OUR PROFILE!• • This is a wonderful example of the Director Model A-60, made by Vega just before their electric instrument line was largely abandoned due to the sudden folk-era demand for the company’s banjos. Founded in 1881 and initially established as a guitar and mandolin maker, Vega became one of the biggest names in banjos in the early 20th century. Poised to be a major player in amplified guitars before WWII, Vega never quite seemed to recapture that momentum after the war. Still, the company’s well-made and classy amplifiers could still be an alluring purchase to the aspiring guitarist of 1959 • • • • • • • #vega #vegaamplifier #vegadirectoramp #vintageamp #vintageamps #vintageamplifier #vegalovers #amplove #tubeamp #tubeamplifier #tubeamps #vintagetubeamp #valveamp #valveamplifier #retrofretvintageguitars #guitarshop #vintageampsofinstagram #madeinboston #guitaramp #guitaramps #guitaramplifier #guitaramplifiers #jensenspeakers

Just arrived a 1963 Rickenbacker Model 4001S Solid Body Electric Bass Guitar in its original silver tolex hard shell case! This instrument is one of the most interesting and historically important Rickenbacker basses we have ever encountered; it literally re-writes the book on the development the Rickenbacker bass. While appearing to have had some work done long ago, in every way this remains an exceptionally rare instrument. *LINK IN PROFILE* * * * * * #rickenbacker #rickenbackermodel4001s #rickenbackerbass #rickenbackerbass4001 #chrissquire #paulmccartneyrickenbacker #rarebass #electricbass #electricbassguitar #basslove #bassguitars #rickenbackerbasses #retrofretvintageguitars #bassguitar #basslife #bassguitars #bassforsale #rickbass #rickenbackersofinstagram #lowend #instagrambasses #electricbassporn #retrofret #lemmy #rickenbacker4001bass

Just arrived a 1966 Fender Precision Electric Bass Guitar in its original black hard shell case! (Link in our profile). - This is a nice example of an early CBS-era Fender Precision Bass, lightly played in but not abused or modified since new. The CBS Corporation had owned Fender not quite two years when this instrument was built. The Precision Bass was little altered for some time and this one shows only minor cosmetic changes from the pre-CBS pattern retaining the feel of Leo’s earlier instruments. - - - - - #fenderprecisionbass #fenderpbass #precisionbass

Today we have a Carvin # 3-SGB Two Pickup Solid Body Electric Guitar made in 1958 in Covina, California! Original tweed hard shell case. You can find out more about it by clicking on the link in our profile. - This 1958 Carvin #3 SGB is a really cool historical piece, and a surprisingly fine little guitar despite its homey appearance! Carvin guitars and amps are a product of the same Southern California spawning grounds as Fender, Rickenbacker, Magnatone, Bigsby and Mosrite; while Carvin is not usually mentioned in connection with these other pioneers, the company was an active part of the scene from early on. - - - - - - #carvin #carvinguitars #carvinguitar #carvin3sgb #vintagecarvin #guitarsofinstagram #guitarporn #guitarstagram #lowellkiesel #carvinelectricguitar #retrofretvintageguitars
