(My teenage son didn't approve this reel at all, something about the music being misused) So chances are it is a complete fail, 😣 but I loved it so much, and the reel will live on my Insta, not on theirs, right? 😰 Aaaand my generation will get it.

One day, when Isabella was just four years old, I picked her up from preschool, and we stopped on the street for a “chupi,” which they call a freezie here. As we walked to the car, enjoying our sweets, she looked at me with her huge eyes and the face of someone who had just figured out life.

“Mom!” she said excitedly. “I know what I want to do when I grow up… An ice cream lady!” (The literal words she used were, “Una vende chupi.”)

We both laughed at her genius idea because, I mean, wouldn’t it be amazing to make a living doing something you loved so much?

I knelt beside her, kissed her, and told her, “I think that’s great. Please do me a favour when you start working: do your very best so you can be an amazing vende chupi, okay?”

“Yes, Mom,” she said.

Fast-forward to 2026, and my baby just got her Juris Doctor degree. My family and I are beyond thankful to God and so incredibly happy for her.

We always supported her path, even before we could imagine what she would choose to study after high school, because what we have always wanted for our children is for them to live their lives with joy, faith, pride, fulfilment, respect, kindness, and wonder.

So, to my baby, my love, my treasure: Do your best, but don’t be afraid to fail. Enjoy life. Whatever you need, you already have it in you, with God and with your family by your side.

We love you to pieces. ❤️
