“6 months off work?!” 😆

That was the reaction from almost everyone I spoke to at the Overseas Vietnamese Goes Saigon 3-day event (26–28 Feb).

Some said it’s unheard of for an organisation to support a 6-month break, and honestly, I’m forever grateful to my managers at Investment NSW for their trust and encouragement 🙌🏼

Day 1 was packed with insights: panels on Vietnam’s economy - the Innovation Dragon - bold predictions for 2045, and refreshingly honest conversations about the hustle, the realities, and the untold challenges of building a business and career in Vietnam.

We ended the day with a beautiful Vietnamese feast (plus lì xì 🧧 and lots of “1, 2, 3 dzô!”) at Quán Bụi 🥂

I couldn’t have asked for a better event to start the Lunar New Year: back in my hometown, yet surrounded by Vietnamese from all over the world, sharing stories, ambition and heart 🫶🏻🌎

So nice to finally see Diem Anh, Daniel and Lina in person, and to meet so many lovely new faces.

Huge thanks to the OV team for the incredible work behind this event and for bringing our global community closer together ✨

Merry Christmas from Saigon ❤️

We closed out the year with an all-white OV Christmas Dinner in Saigon with the Saigon family and members back in town for the holidays.

A reminder of what this community has become: a sense of home wherever we go — and especially when we’re in Vietnam together.
