Random date night at a hidden gem in Marikina. Loved exploring the flavors and textures of @digamo.mnl ‘s playful evolution 10-course tasting menu. Tuwa si bert kasi ang creative ng mga flavor combinations.. plus ung pabaon pastillas de leche wrapper.. ang classic naalala ko pa yan nung bata ako❤️

📍Digámo (Marikina) Playful Evolution Tasting Menu Food: 4.5⭐️ Haven’t had a tasting menu this playful and creative in years. It was fun and inventive without trying too hard, and creative without sacrificing the flavors. Easily one of my favorite degustation I’ve had in a while! Highlights: - Amuse-bouche - Tenga at Tenga at Tenga - Kinilaw - Linagpang - Tamales - C3 - Pansit Batil Patung - Iskrambol Service: 4.5⭐️ Service was top-notch. The servers and staff knew the food well and were very accommodating throughout the meal. Ambience: 4.5⭐️ Place was small but well-maximized, nicely lit, it had a really cozy vibe. Parking was easy. Value for Money: 5⭐️ 10-course for less than ₱4,000 #marikina #digamo #foodreviewph #foodie #manilaeatup Amuse-bouche 4.5⭐️ - started strong with these, it set the tone and had us excited for what was coming next Tenga at Tenga at Tenga 5⭐️ - combination of mushroom, pork, and abalone. Very smoky, nicely paired with the sauce, the pickled onion on top cuts through the richness Linagpang 5⭐️ - it’s like the pinoy version of chawanmushi, really comforting and tasty broth. It had an egg custard with bits of chicken in the bottom. Kinilaw 4.5⭐️ - fresh catch of the day, the acidity of the vinegar was smooth and wasn’t too sharp Tamales 5⭐️- squash, shrimp, and burro came together nicely, so good it only took a few bites before I finished the whole thing Kulawo 4⭐️ — the linagpang was just okay, wasn’t a big fan of the sticky texture. The watermelon sauce and the burnt gata with eggplant took it to another level C3 5⭐️ - inspired by the famous fast-food chain, they gave it a seafood twist. Loved the Crab’n’Joy, while their take on the pasta used cuttlefish instead. They even made their own strawberry ketchup, which was such a fun touch. Pansit Batil Patung 4.5⭐️ - got a quick history lesson on Toyo Malabon with this one, they let you add the sauce yourself and mix it with the spices, so you can adjust it to your liking. A TASTE OF THE PHILIPPINES IN MARIKINA 🇵🇭 I grew up eating mostly Chinese dishes at home and wasn’t exposed to as much Filipino food. This 10-course Filipino tasting menu at Digámo @digamo.mnl by Chef Francis Lacson @francis_lacson really opened my eyes to how diverse our food is—and how much more there is for me to discover. I really enjoyed exploring the flavors and textures in **Playful Evolution**, a menu that traces our food’s journey from pre-colonial traditions through Chinese, Spanish, American, and Japanese influences to modern Filipino interpretations. Very sulit for the price point, especially if you’ve been curious about Filipino fine dining. Give yourself time to enjoy the meal and ask questions along the way. Date-ability Rating: 5.0/5 Behind this blue door might be one of the best tasting menus you can get in Manila for under ₱4,000. It’s date night tonight, and we’re at @digamo.mnl @francis_lacson. Chef Francis Lacson’s menu feels like a playful love letter to Filipino food—familiar flavors and memories, but turned into something completely different. The Linagpang, based on his grandfather’s recipe, was hearty and comforting. The Pancit Batil Patung with Toyo Malabon had layers of flavor, especially once that rich carabao beef broth came in. C3 brought together crab and squid bolognese, while Five Stages of Coconut was probably one of the most creative bites of the night—different textures and expressions of something so familiar. There were honestly too many memorable bites to fit into one reel. And beyond the food, the service deserves a mention: polished and well-trained, but still warm and unmistakably Filipino. At this price point, DIGÂMO is an easy Date Night Manila recommendation. One of the strongest fine-dining experiences we’ve had for under ₱4,000. @digamo.mnl was so worth it!! 🤍 Their 10-course “Playful Evolution” puts a fun, modern spin on Filipino cuisine and everything was sooo good. 🥹✨ We started with their welcome bites, and they were already so flavorful and fulfilling. 🥹 Tenga at Tenga at Tenga!! I was honestly a little scared to try this at first 😂 but it turned out SOOOO good, especially with the sauce! Linagpang — perfect timing because Martin and I were feeling a little under the weather!! Kinilaw & Tamales 🤭 Kulawo was such a good palate cleanser before moving on to the next course 😚 C3 crab n joy!! can literally eat it like chickenjoy 😂 Pansit Batil Patung — they gave us the toyo so we could make our own sawsawan, and the pansit paired so well with it! Sarsa Confusion — Menudo, Kaldereta, Mechado 🫡 no explanation needed!!! 🤍 Iskrambol — never thought guyabano would pair this well with salted cream & with their asin sa buy-o! 🍧 Five Stages of Coconut — the perfect dessert to end the whole experience! 🥹🤍 Di pa pala tapos!
