Today marks the 1st birthday of WARD XVI’s third album IDENTITY’, and we’ve been blown away by how it was received.

We never expected it to hit the top 40 in the official album charts, scaling heights in the rock and metal chart, ending up at number #10 in @metalhammeruk album of the year poll, premieres on @kerrangradio and so much more.. it’s also been an absolute blast to tour- and we hope you’ve enjoyed it too as there’s much more to come!

“If there’s one thing metal fans have proved time and again, it’s that they love a bit of theatrical camp, particularly if it involves horror. UK horrorcore troupe Ward XVI certainly put that to the test with their third full length, a colourful combination of lunking, downtuned riffs, quirky flourishes and big choruses that brought to mind the finest efforts by bands like @wednesday13official or @lordiofficial ” - Metal Hammer

To celebrate today, you can download the album in full for free over on our Bandcamp page.

HOLY F**K 🤯
Cruel Intentions is officially the UK #1 Rock Album… and our SECOND Top 40 album 🔥🔥

This honestly feels surreal. We could never have achieved this without YOU - our fans, followers, friends and family. Every stream, vinyl, CD, ticket, share and message helped make this happen, and we are endlessly grateful ❤️

To every single one of you who believed in this band and this record… thank you. This is a dream come true.

Massive love to the incredible team behind the scenes who worked tirelessly to bring this album to life:

⚡️ Peter Keevil at TMR Music - thank you for the endless support, guidance, late nights and belief in us every step of the way.

⚡️ Jeni, Dan, Jim, Digby and the amazing team at Earache Records - thank you for backing our vision and helping turn this album into something bigger than we ever imagined.

⚡️ Simon Blackmore at Black Arts PR - thank you for the unbelievable press, interviews and media coverage.

⚡️Austin and Oli from AC Promotions for all their support in getting us on the airways and into your ears!

⚡️ Michael Charman and Romesh Dodangoda - thank you for helping us create the best record we possibly could. Working with you both has been an absolute privilege.

⚡️ Rob Blackham - thank you for perfectly capturing the aesthetic and spirit of this record. And a special shoutout to Sophie Newlands for making us look half decent 🤩

We love you all more than words can say.
Now… let’s take this album on the road ❤️

TKE family💙🌹⚡️ We have some great news for you! Our new album ‘Cruel Intentions’ is currently sitting at #13 in the UK TOP 40 MIDWEEK CHART, and it’s all down to YOU 🤯🤯🤯❤️

This album has been an amazing ride with you so far - from winning over the playlists at Planet Rock together, to triumphing as Classic Rock’s Track of the Week THREE TIMES, to enjoying a singalong with each other at Gibson Garage London and our release show last Friday - and now this news today! 😭

As they say, though, it ain’t over ’til it’s over - we’ve got to work HARD to make sure we stay in the official Top 40 chart this Friday! 🔥🤘

If you want to help us stay there, you can find our album for as little as £4.99 now at earache.com/thekarmaeffect - including the newly unleashed ‘Cruel Intentions: The Ultimate Edition’, which features FOUR bonus tracks!⚡️

No matter where we land come Friday, thank you SO much for all of your support so far - to see our album sitting above the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Elton John and Oasis right now is a feeling we’ll NEVER forget! ❤️🌹
