For the Labor Day weekend, I have the pleasure of returning to @synesthesiafest in Sturgis, South Dakota!! 😬

Back in 2023, the @stupidhappycollective took a chance on me, not knowing who I was or the sounds I made. I’m still very grateful for that experience, and to now come back for the third time is something I can’t quite wrap my mind around!! I love all of you guys and gals more than you know, and I can’t wait to see you ❤️

🌟 Based in central Arizona, Chase Marsh, otherwise going under the moniker Yewz, has quickly taken root within the electronic music scene. Infusing his reverence for the raw essence of nature into his diverse production style, he crafts a distinctive sonic identity within the realm of bass music, seamlessly traversing various subgenres without constraint. Drawing from heavy-hitting dubstep and trap, experimental bass, drum and bass, and more, his inimitable sound successfully connects with a wide range of audiences.
Since the launch of the project in 2018, the blooming artist has laid the necessary seeds to grow and nurtured them since, boasting a rounded discography of distinguished releases and collaborators. This breaks my heart typing this, but I’ve made the decision to cancel my booking for the finale of Club 605 this weekend, effectively ending the series as a whole.

Aby’s was the place to be for several years. @thenameisskeaer and I held one of the first residencies of the Club 605 series, back when I had to bring my JBL PartyBoxes to supplement the EV sticks that were there. Shoutout to @therealdexterj on creating the series. You truly made an impact on hundreds, if not thousands of people over the years by starting this whole thing.

As EDM became a staple there, bigger shows came about, with @blackhillsbass bringing out @myriasmusic ; that was a super sick show. I still think about that show pretty regularly, as it is one of my favorites to date. The energy in the room that night was unmatched.

Then came the 4 THE CULTURE series, bringing in talent from all around the region, distributing life-saving harm reduction solutions, and collecting food for those in need.

I spent countless weekends there. Popping over to troubleshoot and dial in sound and/or lights, or DJing to fill in here and there. Sometimes I’d show up just to support whoever else is playing that weekend. There are a lot of emotions going through my head right now. I’m sad this is ending, and upset at how it came about. Empathetic for the few that are still there, soon to be without a job, but apathetic towards supporting a business (specifically its owners) that chooses not to take care of the very people that supported it. I can’t in good faith take a booking from a business that can’t even pay its employees. So, this is the end. Maybe forever, maybe for now. Who knows, only time will tell.

I’m still very much here, and still turning 29 this week; if anyone has a lead on a place that would still be down to host a birthday event with me I’d be happy to coordinate something with them. My DMs are open.

If you haven’t already, swipe to see some random flyers and videos from past experiences there over the years.
