creating together is what makes the moments magical. how lucky am I! doing the work, putting it together, and making the connection. I have so much to be thankful for. thank you to Henry Bernstein for capturing some of the process and not just the product.

Spring Semester 2026 has been very full. One of the many highlights was directing the first fully staged production of Star Machine, written by Gideon Temple, Hank Temple, Hollee Temple, and John Temple.

The design team was top-notch: Ben Needham (Scenic and projections), Logan Chapman (lights), Inda Blatch-Geib (costumes), and Angie Hayes (sound.)

The creative team: Gideon Temple (music director), Carol Schuberg (choreography), Julia Martin (associate choreographer), and Kymberli Cleal (assistant director). Stephanie Montini was the production stage manager.

One of the lovely outcomes of the show was a letter from Broadway director and lyricist Richard Maltby, a hero of mine. The letter below says nice things about the direction, but what I very much appreciate is what he says about doing high-level work in an academic setting. It's so true. I think back to many I had the good fortune to learn from and how those experiences have stayed with me.

Another NYC trip!!! I saw “The Outsiders” on Broadway again, and was able to sit front row again! I was also able to meet some of the AMAZING actors from the show, which was SOOO FUN! I also saw “Chess” on Broadway while I was there, and that was also an amazing show!! As always, Stay Gold!! ⭐️
