We’ve been visiting SICIEEIL quite often lately, and every time it feels worth it. But this round of Entrepreneur Roundtables stood out.

Amanda and @tri_ana.sh put together an event that was fun, engaging, and pushed us to network in a way that actually felt creative. We’ve been to plenty of networking events over the years, but this one encouraged real conversations. We spoke with founders and co-founders who weren’t just there to talk; they were there to connect, share ideas, and learn from one another.

Thank you to Amanda, Triana, and the whole @utscsicieeil team for creating a space where meaningful networking truly happens. Looking forward to more of these moments.

As we close out the month, we’re still energized from one of the biggest business expos Scarborough has seen this year! The year is ending strong, and 2026 is already shaping up to be our biggest year yet… but there’s still plenty more to come.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible partners — Scarborough Spots, Sam Ibrahim Centre for Inclusive Excellence in Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Leadership (SICIEEIL), Elevate, The Firehood — and our sponsors TELUS Health & VVS Computers for making Scarborough to the World possible.

We were also honored to welcome Sam Ibrahim (Arrow Workforce Solutions) and Narges Allahyari (Bijan Foods Industries | صنایع غذایی بیژن), alongside a panel of Women in Tech leaders, celebrating leadership, innovation, and community impact in Scarborough and beyond.

Follow us, check out our upcoming events, and mark your calendars — your next opportunity to grow, connect, and make your mark is just around the corner.

Proud daughter moment!!! Spent the weekend in beautiful Wolfville, Nova Scotia at Acadia University for my dad’s induction into the Acadia Sports Hall of Fame with his 1987-88 Men’s Basketball team - WOW! 17 - 1 what a legacy! We’ve been a sports family for as long as I can remember and this is such a proud and memorable addition to his numerous trophies, black belts, hole in one plaques, etc!

Incredibly proud of you, Pal! Acadia Sports Hall of Fame, well done.

🔥 Toronto entrepreneurs...the Toronto Business Summit VIP Evening was a whole vibe!

Great food. Big inspiration. Serious networking. I met so many amazing people, all focused on building and scaling their businesses. Too many names to list here but I have to shout out a few. 👏🏾🤗

Special thanks to Shawn Allen, a visionary leader who continues to create opportunities and uplifts entrepreneurs across Scarborough and the GTA. His impact is bigger than business...it’s about building legacy and community. 🙌🏾

It was also an honor to see Hon. Alvin Curling, whose trailblazing leadership has opened doors for Black excellence in both business and politics here in Toronto.

Events like this remind me that relationships build businesses. When you show up, shake hands, and share ideas...momentum happens.

👉 I’d love to know...what’s YOUR favorite way to build real connections in business?

Last night, the Scarborough Business Association brought the energy to Business Meets Basketball at GLOBL JAM — Canada’s stage for the best U23 basketball talent from around the world!

On the court: Canada vs. Brazil.
In the lounge: insights from Michael Bartlett (CEO, Canada Basketball), Claude Nembhard (CEO, Ontario Basketball), and Rowan Barrett (GM, Canada Basketball), with Donovan Dill leading the conversation on leadership, teamwork, and building a winning culture.

Business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community changemakers came together for an evening where strategy met sport — proving the connections off the court can be just as powerful as the plays on it. 💼✨

Thank you @canadabasketball for having me and @strizzzyeverywhere at the opening night of Global Jam.
It was a beautiful evening of seeing family, friends, colleagues and community. The basketball is always riveting and seeing the talent in Canada is thrilling. Big up the fans, the families in the stands, and, of course, the athletes elevating the game.
My media peeps were on point. I posted two CBC Sports pics because it's my post and I can. 🙌🏽🌟💕
Lastly, @shawndesman you are a national treasure, we love you. And thank you for being so kind and gracious when I was stammering in fangirl. Let's Go!
