2 people. 1 room. A match that made sense.

Last week, at The Asian Edge during LA Tech Week, @acenextgen brought in ALINE Speed Networking: timed rounds that route every person to their next-best match.

Chalsea and Jia matched, found each other, and discovered that they could help each other right away.

That's mutual intent, made visible.

I’m excited to be speaking at @dim_sum_x “AI, Film & the New Economics of Creativity” during LA Tech Week this October! 🥟🎬
If AI can create almost anything, what makes human creativity worth paying for? Could “Made by Humans” become the next mark of craftsmanship?

Join us over dim sum as filmmakers, creators, technologists, investors, and audiences explore what comes next. Bring your questions, you’ll be part of the conversation, too.

📅 Sun, October 18, 3pm-5pm PST
📍 Taste of Beauty, West Hollywood
🎟️ RSVP: https://partiful.com/e/ivEOa1xGKjJ17mpjVbQo

I’m excited to be hosting a @dim_sum_x gathering at @techweeka16z LA Tech Week this October! 🎉

AI, Film & the New Economics of Creativity
Can You Put a Price on the Human Touch?

On October 17, we’re bringing filmmakers and creators, AI builders and technologists, investors, and audiences together to explore how AI is changing filmmaking and what we want to keep deeply human.

Featuring @jaicedumars and Fred Grinstein of @machinecinema, with more speakers coming soon.

Tech Week is the world’s largest decentralized tech gathering, bringing together 100,000+ unique attendees across 3,000+ community-led events in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, and Boston.

Our event is free, but capacity is limited. RSVP through the link in my bio.

Explore this event and the full Tech Week calendar at https://tech-week.com.

USC rejected me with a 4.0 GPA.

I thought my dream was over, until a guest speaker in Professor Derek Andrade’s class, Kent Shocknek, encouraged me to ask one simple question:

“Why?”

I’ve kept both letters for almost 20 years. This is a story I’ve never shared before.

Thank you, Professor Andrade and Kent, for being part of the moment that changed my future. ❤️

Why do I miss my lowest-paying job the most?

🎧 Spoken in Mandarin with English subtitles.

My first job in the U.S. paid only $6.75 an hour, but 22 years later, it is still the job I remember the most.

Sometimes, the value of a job isn’t written on the paycheck. It may be quietly planting a seed for your future.

What did your first job leave you with?
