i had no idea how great the puerto rican vegan food scene was going to be before i visited for the first time. especially in san juan, there are so many options for vegans that arent just rice and beans and tostones. i didnt even get to try everything! i will definitely be visiting again in the future and trying double the vegan kitchens.

im seeious about that vegan burrata, im going to be learning how to make vegan cheese soon (and documenting the process, follow if you're interested) and hope that one day i can make something that tastes half as good as that one at aliado.

also i neeeeeed to fine chino tostones in new york, i love being put on to this aspect of boricua culture now. theyre so good yall, please try tostones at a chinese restaurant. yummy yum yum yum

i didnt know that mofongo was supposed to taste that good until i tried the one at 100% hp. lowkey new york mofongo is so dry and i had no idea it was actually meant to be buttery and soft and just ughhh so good. 100 hp% is doing amazing work in pr making traditional comfort dishes veganized, and they advertise themselves as being able to fool carnivores.

also, i need to talk about that waffle combination of ham and cheese and fruit and honey. sounds kind of odd maybe, but i loooove stuff like that the mix of savory and sweet is soo delicious to me and it was made so well, such soft and fluffy waffles and fresh tasting fruit

i miss the fruit in puerto rico, you can taste how fresh everything is, like the mango pudding at hotkei. its no surprise that desserts in puerto rico are made with island fruits

im now one of the many nuyoricans who will be looking to relocate to boriken. #travelvlogger #boriken #veganfoodie #visitpuertorico
