Blue Cheese Caramelized Onion Burger is on the menu tonight! (1). Neither of us have had a burger this summer and let’s face it, it’s a summer necessity. This burger basically built itself once we came up with the flavor profile. First and foremost, you have to start with a really good cut of meat. I found Ground New York Strip in the supermarket in New Jersey but Marisa couldn’t find that so she went with Ground Kobe Beef which had about the same nutritional value. (3, 4). Next we came up with a seasoning which included smoked paprika, garlic and onion powder and seasoned salt. (5). This added a smoky bbq flavor without even grilling. (Which we did though). We also buttered and grilled those potatoes rolls and then smeared them with a horseradish mayo. (6). Next, we fried some bacon and then decided to caramelized onions in the leftover bacon fat and add a small firm diced tomato and heat that with the onions for a couple of minutes to heat through. (7). Then Mary sprinkled on crumbled blue cheese and removed from heat and covered so the cheese melts.(8). Marisa separated her onions and tomato and added cheddar cheese to one because her hubby doesn’t like blue cheese. (Say what?!?). (9) Just kidding, we all have different tastes. He loved the cheddar with it. Remember, if there’s something you don’t like in a recipe, just use something you do like instead. We finished the burger off with a pickle slices which added crunch and some vinegar to offset the richness.(10). All together......😋 #dinnerthymes2 #motherdaughtertime #cookingtogetherlongdistance #thymefordinner #yum #summereats #lovecooking #foodporn #foodies. #burgers #burgersandfries
