THE CLOUD IS LOUD AND HOT, 2026, video installation
The video installation traces a technological genealogy: from coal mining to data centers and clickwork, all the way to self-optimization and the promise of artificial general intelligence. The narrative is divided into four acts, each narrated by a distinct voice.
The vertical format is not only a form of presentation but also a substantive argument: the mine shaft, the server rack, the TikTok scroll, and the mountain share the same axis.

Beim diesjährigen 𝐍𝐑𝐖-𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐠 während der @berlinale in der Landesvertretung NRW in Berlin haben wir unglaublich viele Alumni und Wegbegleiter:innen getroffen – Menschen, die das MGZ-Netzwerk seit Jahren prägen und heute neue Projekte, Teams und Visionen in die Branche bringen. Besonders schön: Auch aktuelle Stipendiat:innen und unsere MGZsheroes waren dabei.

Solche Abende zeigen jedes Mal aufs Neue, wie weit unser Netzwerk reicht – und wie lebendig es ist. Und mit Blick auf 20 Jahre MGZ fühlt sich das ganz besonders an. ❤️

Am nächsten Tag ging’s direkt weiter mit unserem jährlichen 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐢 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐟, den wir gemeinsam mit der @filmschule_koeln ausgerichtet haben: Updates, Wiedersehen und neue Verbindungen – von etablierten Gründungsteams bis zu unseren aktuellen Stipendiat:innen. 🤝

Ein großes Dankeschön an das @land.nrw, @nrw.berlin und @filmedienrw für die Einladungen – und an die @filmschule_koeln für den gemeinsamen Alumni-Treff. ✨
