Hundreds of writers and directors like myself gathered this week to link up, celebrate how far we’ve come and figure out our next steps in this ever changing industry. I’m a proud alum of the #CBSDirectorsInitiative, (now the Paramount program) and participant in many #CTDI programs. These programs can be a great way to not only launch your career but to build community. I saw so many friends that I haven’t seen in years but I only took a few pictures! The Summertime soirée was a blast!! #Director #Writer

I had the incredible honor of interviewing two of the creatives behind “Josephine,” for an Alliance of Women Directors “Back to Set” panel on Visual Storytelling. We talked camera tests, creating the right style to match your film’s emotion and tone, and most importantly, choosing the right creative team for your film.

“Josephine,” the 2026 Sundance U.S. Dramatic Competition and Audience Award winner, was written & Directed by Beth de Araújo with Greta Zozula as cinematographer. I had a blast getting to know them and talking movie making!

Thank you Alliance of Women Directors for asking me!

Also in this post are some fun shots from the weekend as an attendee and volunteer — I even had the chance to meet Bethany Rooney who literally wrote the book on directing (with Mary Lou Belli!).

This past weekend was so beautiful! This is the most supportive and encouraging group of women. The @awd_directors Back To Set was wonderful! The energy was so great we didn't want to leave!

So inspiring to reconnect with familiar faces, meet incredible new women, and be reminded of the power of community. I can’t wait to see all the amazing projects that come out of this talented group this year! ❤️🎬

Thank you @erikarmccall and your phenomenal @goforyours foundation for all of the hard work you do helping our youth realize their dreams.

I have been a proud supporter and advocate of this organization from its inception and was deeply moved to be among the people honored today along with Kareem Grimes, Kenny Lattimore, Cory Hardrict and Loriel Plummer!!
It was a beautiful day of community, celebration, advocacy and friendship. A much needed reminder and you could feel the love, promise, determination and hope throughout the beautiful space we were in.
I’m especially grateful to my hubby and friends who came out to support! 🧡🧡🧡
If you weren’t able to make it, you can still support this organization with a donation. QR code is on the last slide💫😉.

All the work I do as a TV Director and Producer and writer is in service of building community, giving underrepresented people a voice, educating and creating opportunities.

My personal mission is to entertain, inspire and provoke (thought, understanding, conversation and/or action) through my work and deeds. Our missions align💫💫💫 #GoForYours #MOJOAcademy #MOJOMedia #Honoree #Proud

My *2025* in pictures in 1 minute and 30 seconds!!!

This year was… challenging. But as I looked through my photos I was reminded that there was also so much joy and so much love. I was intentional about connecting with many of my lifelong friends!
Our group chat turned into an epic girls trip in ATL.
I was blessed to return to direct another episode of #GreysAnatomy and had the sheer delight of directing two new shows #ElectricBloom and #Vampirina.

I fellowshipped with my director peeps, I mentored, I advised.

I had the opportunity to direct TWO impactful shows that are legendary in Black Hollywood— #EssenceBlackWomenInHollywood Awards and the #EBONYPower100 Awards.

So while I endured the terror of the LA Fires, the horrid political climate, curfews and both my mom and daughter being hospitalized this year, I also experienced love, support, encouragement and got clarity.

Clarity is key as I move into this new year and decide what I’m taking with me and what I’m leaving behind. I have already planted the seeds and am focusing on watering them in 2026.

Heavy on the self care, focus, clarity and more love, more time with friends, more growth, more stability in all aspects of my life. Practicing what I preach and trusting and honoring ALL of my gifts💫🙌🏾
I’ve learned so much about people, about this industry, this world, humanity and about myself and I’m ready to move forward triumphantly!
Grateful to everyone I got to spend time with this year and wishing you ALL a blessed, happy, safe and prosperous New Year! 🎉🙏🏾💫🧡
*Couldn’t tag everyone 😩😍*

Director Traci: “I came into the workshop as a Director in the Medical Procedural Workshop, with the goal to elevate my reel with a scene I didn’t write and to direct a scene with a high level of production value. Between the well written script, the talented and versatile actors, a creative and collaborative DP and authentic medical set, the experience exceeded my expectations.”
