I had the BEST time attending VIFF as a DSO Delegate. It was such a wonderful experience getting to connect with amazing like minded creatives! I also had the opportunity to attend the screenings of The Lion Does Not Concern Himself and participate in my first ever Q&A at a festival. None of this would have been possible without the @disabilityscreen so thank you!

This year has been particularly difficult. A mixed episode completely took over my life from mid October 2025 to the beginning of August 2026. You read that right….✨10 months✨. I needed some good news and the whole experience affirmed that even though I have a screw..or two..loose I do belong in the industry and I can be a leader despite it being hard and difficult at times.

Also my back phone camera doesn’t work so the only photo I took from the trip is in the last slide when I briefly stopped into a cat cafe in between screenings. But believe me Vancouver is beautiful and we should all move there.

EXCITING NEWS! I’m thrilled to share that I am a co-author of All Access Pass: A Roadmap for Festival and Screen Event Accessibility alongside Elspeth Arbow, Alethea Bakogeorge and Brooke Leifso for the Disability Screen Office (DSO) thanks to funding support from Telefilm Canada. This guide was launched on September 14 at the Telefilm Pavillion at the TIFF: The Market / Toronto International Film Festival. Thank you to Winnie Luk and Elspeth Arbow for inviting me to speak at the launch.

For so long disabled creatives have been unable to meaningfully participate in screen industry events due to persistent, rampant and corrosive accessibility barriers which keep us out or box us in. This in-depth guide provides tangible, action-oriented and impactful advice to festival and screen industry event organizers to embed commitments to accessibility and disability inclusion in intentional, measurable ways. This weekend, IMPACT stands with organizations from across Canada’s media production industry in a full-page advertisement in The Globe and Mail. We thank the Prime Minister, Canada’s trade negotiators, the federal government, the premiers, and political parties of all stripes for standing up for Canada’s cultural sovereignty.

Our sector does not often speak with one voice. When it does, it is worth paying attention.

IMPACT’s position has not changed since we published our white paper, Cultural Sovereignty Includes African, Caribbean, and Black Communities. Protecting Canadian culture at the trade table only delivers if African, Caribbean and Black creators own the IP, lead the companies, and share in the value that protection creates.

Thank you to the @the_cmpa for coordinating, and to every organization that put its name to this.

AHHH!! I can finally share that my kids series Story Lab has been selected for AccessCBC Kids 2026-27!

I created Story Lab as a Visual Vernacular kids series where Deaf and hearing kids gather after school, and the stories they tell magically come to life.

I’ll be developing the project as creator, writer, and co-producer, alongside co-producer Alexandra Hickox.

I am beyond excited to see where this goes. It is just a start but I am manifesting that this project comes to life the way VV stories would come to life on screen.

I went on a carousel after taking myself on a date to the local fair, which is called Lethbridge Whoop-Up Days! Life is awesome and I wanted to enjoy it!

Let's do a little more work on our feet today. It will be nothing less than an upstanding experience!

I got into making this series because I have neurodevelopmental and physical challenges that are sometimes taxing to live with because of circumstances beyond my control, but I don't let those things damage my ability to live well! I work to stay physically and mentally healthy so I can do well in my careers of acting, writing, and artistry.

Taking care of myself also sends the message that l love myself and care about having a good, healthy, long-lasting relationship with myself.
