So amazing it deserves a double serving!

What an absolute honour to have played a part in the John Frieda 50 Year Anniversary celebrations last Monday.

Wall to wall, it was a who’s who of the beauty and fashion industry, loyal clients, and dedicated, long-standing, uber-talented members of the salon team.

The heartfelt speeches by John and his children touched guests so much there were nearly tears – but mostly there were belly laughs, a sense of genuine connection, respectful relationships, and pure joy.

Guests hung on every word as John, his children and @lulukc spoke about the salon, its history and the team’s expertise. @lulukc sang ‘It’s a Family Affair’ and said that when a woman leaves the @johnfriedasalon after getting her hair done, she feels powerful – as though she can fly.

Guests of all generations partied in style to the sounds of @henri . A true neighbourhood celebration, the event spilled onto Aldford Street, where guests cooled down in the London evening sunshine (thank you, weather fairies) with delicious ice cream. A fashion icon, complete with an equally iconic hair-do, was overheard declaring: “It’s delicious!”

This felt like such a full-circle moment and will be a night I shall never forget.

For those who may not already know, I was an Account Executive on the John Frieda account in my junior days, working with @juliettadexter . Fast forward many years, and here we are working together on a rather momentous event. Thank you, @juliettadexter , for trusting @lioncommunications with this task.

Over the years, John has identified and nurtured incredible talent within the hair industry. I was lucky enough, the first time around, to work with many of them, including @kerrywarnofficial and @nicolaclarkecolour , on multiple-page hair stories in glossy magazines and TV appearances.

Now, with @ceteralambcolour as Creative Director and a talented team of colourists and stylists, the @johnfriedasalon looks to its next chapter.
