Disco stopped by for a visit with Dr. Torres and Aria, and all three left with the exact same big smile. Disco was the real star of the appointment!

Our tiny little 3.9-pound Croquetita suffers from seizures. 🥺🐾

Since arriving at our rescue almost two years ago, he has been under the care of a neurologist and takes daily seizure medication — medication he will need for the rest of his life. He sees his neurologist @southeastveterinaryneurology every six months for follow-ups, and today was his six-month checkup. ❤️

Thankfully, his seizures have been very well controlled. Over the past year, he’s only had about three episodes. Of course, we wish that number were zero, but we are incredibly grateful that he is stable and doing so well.

Croquetita is available for adoption, but when it comes to our seniors and medical cases, finding the right home is especially important. His medication must be given on time, every eight hours, so he needs an extremely responsible family who understands the commitment and will stay on top of his medication schedule and veterinary care.

Croquetita is just one of the many dogs in our rescue who depend on daily medications and ongoing medical care for life. Seniors, special-needs dogs, and medical cases are a huge part of what we do — and we will continue showing up for them for as long as they need us. 🐾❤️

Dixie is proof that sometimes the biggest battles are happening inside a body we cannot see. 🙏🏼

At about one year old and only 30 pounds, this little girl should be busy discovering the world. Instead, she was found alone beneath a car, unable to walk.

After specialists, testing, and many questions, we finally had an answer: IMPA, or immune-mediated polyarthritis — a condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks the joints.

But this is what we want you to remember:

IMPA can be treated. A diagnosis does not mean a life without hope.

Dixie is now safe, receiving the treatment she needs, and getting the time, patience, and care she deserves. And she is walking again. 🥹🐾

She still has a road ahead of her, but she is no longer walking it alone.

This is why rescue matters. Sometimes saving a life means more than finding a home. It means saying, “We see you. We will find the answers. And we will stay.”

Please share Dixie’s story. Awareness can help more animals with conditions like IMPA get the care they need.
