![[13.09] Malga Lessinia, Passo Fittanze 🏔️🌿☀️
🇬🇧 Passo Fittanze sits at 1,399 metres on the border between the provinces of Verona and Trento, a crossing point on the ancient boundary between the Republic of Venice and the Tyrol. The route climbs to Malga Lessinia at 1,616 metres, a historic landmark of the Lessinia plateau. The name Lessinia likely derives from the Latin "laxines", a term referring to the clearings and high-altitude pastures that still define the landscape today

🇬🇧 A walk on the Lessinia plateau from Passo Fittanze, a pass on the ancient border between the Serenissima and the Tyrol, up to Malga Lessinia at 1,616 metres. The malga was originally built during the First World War to shelter troops guarding the nearby Austro-Hungarian border. It remained unused after the war until 1945, when it was converted into a summer pasture farm, with a restaurant open since the 2000s
