I believe these little explorers deserve gear for big adventures as well.
.
There was something really special about watching my son get extra excited for our hike together with his new Backpack and Aluminum Trekking Pole Set by @qunature_usa.
.
He really hit the trails with confidence and commented on how his new poles made his legs feel less tired, “like walking on clouds.”
.
His new 8L backpack was perfect for carrying the essentials, like snacks for him and his sister of course, along with his flask to stay hydrated. I also LOVE the whistle that is attached to the straps in the front for any emergency.
.
Whether we’re wandering through the woods, climbing the elevated trails, or just taking a simple family hike, it’s always going to be about encouraging my kids’ independence, building confidence, and making room for little discoveries. And this was definitely a hit for my son. He loves it.
.

Eales preserve was on fire over the weekend. The heath barrens are so unique. It's rare to catch them at peak color, especially after a light rain that really helped make them pop. We swore we even saw a few snowflakes 🍁 ❄️

A little rant....this is very close to the area where developers want to build over 51 massive data center buildings. In fact in a few of the pictures you can see the parcels in the background on neighboring mountains. This preserve was nearly an amazon warehouse itself. This is the type of environment we could lose to hyperscale development. Do yourself a favor and look up some of the proposals. I think you'll be shocked at the scale and hopefully spurred to action. If we want places like to exist for our children we need to do something now. Go to meetings, write to your representatives, make some noise.

Came across a little bit of Halloween whimsy in the Poconos.
.
These cute pumpkins were left beside the falls which added another level of autumn charm as my daughter played and watched the leaves ride the flow of the falls.

Tucked away in the gorgeous Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, just outside of our charming Historic Milford, I spent the morning along the Cliff and Milford Knob Trails.
.
The Cliff Trail is a ridge-top hike that winds through the forest along Raymondskill Ridge, opening up to four incredible viewpoints: the Tri-State, Minisink, Riverview, and Milford Knob overlooks.
.
Milford Knob is a short and rewarding climb toward the beautiful overlook above historic Milford. You can also see the High Point Monument on a clear day.
.
I took some time to myself to take in the sweeping views of rolling hills, sprawling farmland, winding waterways, and colorful treetops. The perfect way to spend a morning after drop off.
.
I really think this trail deserves a spot in your adventure list next time you find yourself in Milford, PA.
.
PLEASE remember to leave the trails the way you found them and keep Pennsylvania beautiful.

I know this place is popular during the summer months, but man, oh man, there is nothing quite like the Seven Tubs Natural Area during autumn season.

The Seven Tubs Recreation Area is a scenic, 400-acre natural site within Pinchot State Forest.
.
It is named after seven large, natural potholes carved into 350-million-year-old sandstone bedrock by powerful glacial meltwater over 12,000 years ago.
.
The first half 2 mile Audubon Loop takes you along a swift-flowing stream that winds through a deep ravine, creating a continuous series of small waterfalls, cascades, and crystal-clear pools. (You can also just hike down to the tubs and back out)
.
Autumn truly does just enhance everything.

That weird magic of motherhood that I don’t always recognize while I’m living it.
.
Sometimes, I’m so deep in the fog that I don’t fully immerse myself in the fleeting moments with my small children.
.
Maybe one day when that fog lifts, I can look back and see what I couldn’t quite take in now. But I’d really rather not wait until it’s too late.
.
I will make more of a conscious effort to fully immersing myself in the little hands reaching for mine, the silly voices calling out “mom” all day long, the weight of a sleepy kid in my arms, and just the way they look at me before that all goes away.
.
I have the beautiful privilege of being their mom, and the days with these children, while they are small and still want to be around me, are quietly becoming the memories I’ll one day wish I could step back into.

1,200 vertical feet of pure rocks, roots, and steep switchbacks. Climbing up the Red Dot Trail on Mount Tammany definitely makes you earn every single view.
.
My lungs and quads are still talking about yesterday’s hike up the the overlook at this incredibly popular North Jersey hike. One you’re at the top along the edge of the Delaware Water Gap looking across at Mount Minsi, man those views make it all that much more worth it.
.
A wonderful treat before you@reach the top of the Red Dot trial is an opening once you are halfway up the steep, jagged inclines start of the trail, where you can look out and see Arrow Island split the Delaware River down below.
.
The trail up is relentless but I think the challenge and the absolute achievement and beauty of reaching the top is what makes this New Jersey hike the most sought out that it is.
.
That being said, the lots become full almost instantly, so if you get the chance to go on a weekday morning, like I had the opportunity to, it’s a better bet to beat the crowds, otherwise just come as early as you can on a weekend to try to get ahead and take in the sights before it gets too packed.
.
Please respect the trails and take your garbage out with you.

I took our daughter back to the Niagara of Pennsylvania to enjoy its beauty on a rainy morning.
.
Bushkill Falls really is a site to see. But my favorite part of taking my little ones here, besides the incredible falls to explore, is knowing that this Mama will be definitely be getting a workout in as well.
.
Visitors are welcome to hike along the main boarded Green Trail for an immediate glimpse of its stunning 100 foot main waterfall.
.
We usually continue our hike along the Red Trail to view so many gorgeous waterfalls through the more rugged paths along the Creek.
.
🟢Green Trail: View the Main Falls from the green trail, which takes about 15 minutes to walk. No climbing is involved, however, there are steps.

🟡Yellow Trail: View the Main Falls, as well as Lower Gorge Falls, Laurel Glen and Upper Canyon, which takes 45 minutes to walk.

🔵Blue Trail: View Pennell Falls from the blue trail, which takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to walk.

🔴Red Trail: View Bridal Veil Falls from the Red trail. This trail is for the avid hiker in that it spans almost 2 miles, includes all eight falls, and takes over 2 hours to hike.
