QUICK PSA 🤍

The last few months have been a total stress. I outgrew environments that were no longer serving me, i was working in a horrible environment that had a knock on effect on my enthusiasm for things I love.

Looking back at this set honestly reminds me why I always come back to music, this was genuinely one of the most fun nights/sets ever, @planet.wax got its roof blown off and the vibes were IMMACULATE.

As someone who struggles a LOT with stress, social media and literally crippling ADHD never be afraid to take breaks and be completely unapologetic. It’s a huge shame that us smaller artists only feel like we’re achieving when we’re seeing numbers go up on a screen, and I’m literally so sick of being anxious around engagement!

But anyway, here’s some clips of the sickest night at @quichegang alongside some of the sickest mcs everrr, will post IDS in comments 💚

I absolutely love this era of bassline, from 2014-2017 - there was a real scene, Lengoland was popping off! Here are 5 absolute bangers from that era:

Distinkt - China Town (Crucast - 2017)
Killjoy - Really Hot (Tumble Audio - 2014)
Deadbeat - Raving Crew (Chip Butty - 2015)
King Hydra - Come On (Project Allout - 2016)
Dr Cryptic - Skippy (Chip Butty - 2014)

Still not over the fact that we had the chance to take over the decks from two of our all-time favourite artists in the past few weeks 🥹🚀

We’ve both been listening to @mph_uk and @taikinulightuk for almost 10 years now, and they’ve truly been huge inspirations for us in both production and mixing. It was an honour sharing the stage with these dons 🫡

We couldn’t move on without making a proper post with a few clips from these shows, so here it is! TBF it was quite a challenge to play those sets without dropping any MPH or Taiki tunes haha

Big love to everyone who came down to these shows!!! Also a huge shoutout to @akvariumklub @selectabp @a38ship and @nextlevelbudapest for making these events happen for the Hungarian UK music lovers 🫶

Let’s keep the community and the culture growing!!

we were still students in ✨ 𝒷𝓇𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉𝑜𝓃 ✨ just trying to start something real.

southpoint didn’t begin as a business plan. it started as a reaction.

a reaction to loving our city and its artists, but constantly seeing the spotlight land elsewhere. bristol. manchester. london.

we wanted 𝔟𝔱𝔬𝔴𝔫 in that same conversation.

2016 was only our second year as a label. everything was learned in real time.

we had only just worked out what a distributor even was. contracts were googled. release strategy came from getting it wrong first 🥲

but the music kept landing.

early releases picked up radio support across rinse, radar, reprezent, mode fm and getdarker. the southpoint show on trickstar radio quickly became the station’s most listened to show 👊

then came the first shows. sold out sticky mike’s in brighton with @23degrees_events. followed by our first out of town takeover at lakota in bristol thanks to @steffanchelland.
suddenly it felt real.

all artwork during this period was handled by @callum.bailey, who worked with @joshstpt at h&m and jumped in for free to build his college portfolio. no budgets. no expectations.

this is not the full 2016 catalogue. just some of our favourite releases from that year.

the execution was rough.
the learning curve was steep.
but the intention was always clear.

‣ release good music
‣ support our artists
‣ give back to the scene that raised us

this was the foundation 💘
