Me n @itskuhlwhip ripped a demo in hey sept. of last year, I brought it to @_tylerskye_ and here we are (my head in the clouds but my gravity centered type). I’ve always wanted to do an acoustic project and I’m so excited these two new versions of yellowjackets and spin the bottle are out in the world now. wanted these songs to be in a form that sounded like how you might’ve found them on here. thank you to my goat @distortiondaddy for making this come to life with me and i couldn’t have done it without you. and also to my co writers on these songs @ryanealon @abigailosborn.mp3 and @robyndellunto i love you guys so much. so glad these little versions exist now ;)

For years, I’ve wanted to make an acoustic project. and now the time has finally come. “Songs the Way You Heard Them (Vol. 1)” is out next Friday 10/16.

Almost every time I release a song, I get flooded with comments from fans who wanted the song to stay in its original, acoustic form on social media. and honestly I can’t blame you guys for it. I be loving production and making my songs sound as cool as they can, but that also makes them sound very different when the song comes out. whether it’s me singing in my basement with a candle in front of me or me in my old college dorm with that blue teal background behind me, people have connected the most when I sing my tunes in a way that feels raw and genuine, and I’ve been listening quietly over the years to that. so these new versions are based off the way you guys heard them initially and this is my gift to you. and this is just the first volume. presave is in the bio :)

My second EP “The Scrapyard” is out now. Wow, I’ve been waiting on this project for so long and to say those words, it feels really great.

I started this project a year ago, with a song that’s out today called “rusted out”. After we wrote that song, I wanted to build more on what “the scrapyard” meant to me, and I landed on the unsalvageable feelings of my life that always kept coming back around. Making this record was a way for me to write my way out of those impossible feelings. I still don’t know yet if I really did it, but hell if I tried. Tonight I listened to the record one last time, before it wasn’t mine anymore. Listening to these songs now, I feel stronger than when I wrote them. More resilient you could say. It’s always so weird putting out a project 6 months after you wrote the material and your life being completely different than it is now. But something about this feels like a time capsule to me directly from the scrapyard. I have some people to thank that really helped drive home this EP in the most beautiful way.
