Even the smallest act of generosity can help a student start the school year with confidence, dignity, and the resources they need to succeed.

We heard 2016 was trending...

Photo 1: In 2016, we were known as the Skokie Community Fund! This was before we were an official foundation, but we were well on our way with help from @evanstonforever.

It was our second year of awarding grants. Our 2016 grants included:

Photo 2: English Language Learner Parent Center & FAMA Bilingual Center for Family Caregivers. Health Literacy Education for Immigrant Families: Workshops to help immigrant families more easily navigate the healthcare system and access care for a healthy life.

Photo 3: Open Studio Project & Village of Skokie Human Services Division. Community Mural: Skokie residents created a mural for the entrance to the Village of Skokie Health Department and Human Services Division.

Photo 4: Youth & Opportunity United & Skokie/Morton Grove School District 69. Community School Initiative: Increased community engagement and parental leadership for families at Lincoln Junior High and Edison Elementary.

Photo 5: Douglas Center & Skokie Public Library. Next Chapter Book Club: A bi-weekly book discussion group for adults with developmental disabilities.

Photo 6: Orchard Village & Stillpoint Theatre Collective & Skokie Public Library. Educational Film Documentary: A program to feature the accomplishments of adult Skokie residents with developmental disabilities as they created and performed an original work of theatrical self-expression.

Photo 7: YWCA Evanston/North Shore & Skokie Public Library. Racial Justice Programming: Twelve monthly discussion sessions to deepen understanding of the impact of race on day-to-day live in Skokie.

We've grown so much since 2016! Thanks for your support along the way, Skokie. We're grateful to be stronger than ever in 2026.

🔎✏️🌷The Education Foundation's commitment to students extends beyond the classroom and into the summer. Through scholarships for summer school and camp programs; we help ensure that every child, regardless of financial needs, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and feel a true sense of belonging in a safe, supportive environment.

These programs encourage a sense of wonder, personal growth, and confidence. For working parents, they offer peace of mind knowing that their children are safe and actively engaged in meaningful experiences.

Our investment in these vital programs reflects our deep belief: 𝐸𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑑 𝑑𝑒𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑒𝑠 𝑎 𝑞𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑒𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛.

Yet another Orchestra Odyssey in the books! This is our biggest event of the year — it might be a record. We hosted 350 young string players from our sender schools! 🎻🎻🎻

BIG thanks to all NWO students, sender school Directors, our string faculty and to NWHS folks for making this happen! 🎉🎉🎉
