Hell yeah it will. In fact, I prefer it.

Unsolicited opinion: if a wedding photographer doesn’t know how to shoot in every type of lighting condition- including pitch black dive bars - they’re in the wrong profession. Find someone else.

With that being said- had the time of my life at this moody dive bar with the sunset of a lifetime for Giuliana + Spencer’s night before

I thought this deserved its own post. Using ISO 800 turned out to be the right call for the ANSCO Shur-Shot. The shutter mechanism is so old and imprecise that you really have to shoot by ear, and it’s always better to overexpose a bit than to underexpose.
This is sundown on the bay in Chincoteague Island, early September 2026. The sun had already dipped below the horizon, so I held the shutter open for about two seconds, which gave the water this beautiful, smooth effect. No digital camera could capture the quality of light that evening — only this old box camera came close to doing it justice.

A few shots from my 86-year-old Agfa Ansco Shur-Shot! Tried CineStill in it for the first time on a super bright day. Managing those harsh shadows without overexposing was a challenge (and a few frames did overexpose…), but I’m really happy with how it turned out.

Taken on a backroad between Chincoteague and Pocomoke City in 2025. Surviving the mosquitoes to get this felt like a real win.
